I can't sleep, I should be asleep. I want to sleep, I know I need to sleep but, I can't sleep. That's insomnia for you, consciously you recognize the need for a biological function that has been rendered unattainable. However, unlike knowing that you are loved by your signifigant other and have some solid evidence. The condition is more evident to the self as it is the self that is directly involved. With love, you don't have as much direct involvement, you're not the other and sometimes you can validly question you signifgance to that other, insomnia leaves no room for doubt as to the integrity of the malady.
