My secret life becoming public. I want others to know what I go through and if they do too, I want them to know that they're not alone.
Put Away Her Picture
As her car goes up in flames.
We'll find a way to take away her pain.
Don't kill the fire, just the girl.
Let her go.
There is nothing we can do as the fire consumes her,
engulfing her body in a shroud of black smoke.
There is nothing we can do now but watch.
You hear her screams,

twisting and turning a sickness inside you.

It’s too late to save her.
Let her go.

It’s been a year since the accident.
You still haven’t been able to move on.
You sit and think of her for hours,

preserving her memory,

but torturing yourself with it.

Put away her picture.
Dry away the tears.
Just remember her as she was,
That happy teenager before she died.

Remember her smile.
Remember her laugh.
The way she looked at the world.
She will never be forgotten.
She will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
It would take an army of angels
To restore her health back to herself.
Her heart belongs to another,
A boy whose mystery exaggerates.

So put away her picture and just remember.
Savor those last days you spent with her.
Remember every day with her before the accident.
Remember how you love her.

Don’t let your pain and insanity drive you into the arms of her caretaker.

Your tears can’t bring her back.

So put away her picture.

Let her go…

(Certain phrases in this poem came from the lyrics of the song The Night Your Guardian Fell Asleep by Chasing Victory.)
