THE DAY I'VE HAD.
So we had to bring my sister to the doctor. Just for a checkup- nothing serious. But the thing is, the doctor moved their office to a new town.
We're using my mom's GPS to get there. We've known for a while that this thing is conspiring against mankind by giving us perfectly horrible directions and getting us as lost as possible. That, coupled with the fact that a doctor's office does not usually look like a little house...
Okay, look. I love my mom dearly. But a house at the end of a hill doesn't not generally = doctor's office, no matter what your GPS says.
And I told her that while we were still at the top of said hill.
"Uh, ma, that's not the office."
She didn't even say anything, she just drove down the hill and, guess what, couldn't get back up.
Did I mention that we were IN A STRANGER'S DRIVEWAY? Because that just kind of put the icing on the cake.
So we sat there and waited for AAA to come. When they did, the guy said he couldn't pull the car out while everyone was in it, so me, my mom, Autistic brother, Autistic sister and "Normal" brother had to get out of the car in the middle of this building snowstorm and stand under the overhang of these people's garage.
No one was home, thankfully, but they had an alarm that went off whenever we went to close to the garage. Which meant that after a while we just couldn't stand under the overhang anymore and had to deal with the snow.
The thing about Autistic kids, too- especially those as severe as my siblings- is that they're impatient. So my brother tried to run back up the hill to get to the car (which was at this time stuck at the middle of the hill along with the tow-truck) and I had to grab him and hold him still, and then my sister decided that, since she was hungry, she would sit down and eat snow. Which I could do nothing about, because even though she's a year younger than me, she has like five inches and 20+ pounds on me.
So on top of that, the snow was covering ice. The entire damn driveway was iced over. I fell twice- once the first time I got out of the car to try to see how stuck we were, and again when I was heading over to the overhang to begin with- and slid/twisted my knee once. On the second fall, I cracked my knees on the ice and then had to stand there for an hour while this guy tried to get our car out of the snowbank with my knees throbbing. And anyone who reads my journal regularly knows my knees are already so bad that they require corrective surgery- this was obviously a lot less fun due to that fact.
Also, at some point at maybe the 45-minute mark, my Autistic brother started shivering and crying, so I had to give him my jacket. So I was standing there in Crocs and a tee shirt, until my mom grabbed some blankets from the trunk of the car.
And it was about that time that the storm really started, too. But thankfully in about fifteen minutes the guy got our car unstuck and we all piled in and turned the heat all the way up.
Moral of the story: question everything. Even your GPS.
I'm supposed to have a piano lesson, but if you think I'm going to that you're nuts.
And no, my sister never got to her appointment.

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect,
is all that you believe

Wow, that sucks. Was it all during a snow storm? This is where my dad would say you should always be prepared. I'm not allowed to leave until he knows I have at least two jackets and blankets in my car.

And about your GPS, you might want a different one. If it's led you off track more than a hand full of times, you might have a faulty one.

I'm sorry about your day. Mine doesn't sound so bad anymore.

I will bring a mirror, so silver, so exact
So precise and so pristine, a perfect pane of glass
I will set the mirror up to face the blackened sky

You will see your beauty every moment that you rise

It was during the build up to a snowstorm P= they said the weather wasn't going to be too bad so.
We had blankets and jackets, luckily, but my brother was only wearing like a sweatshirt, so. I had a warm jacket- I gave him mine.
It wasn't so bad cold-wise (and that's just a little bit of a lie xD) but my hands were frozen really badly and stiff for like an hour after.
We were semi-prepared... xD

Yeah, I think it's messed up. It's an older one- my dad has a brand new one and it doesn't do this kind of thing, so I think they've improved the technology since this one was made. But he wasn't driving- he was at work, and his GPS was in his car, so. We were stuck with the crappy old one who thinks it's a good idea to strand us in the middle of someone's driveway.

I wasn't trying to complain =( just recounting an absurd series of events. It was ridiculous, exotic. xD Almost laughably so. I'm really glad no one was home- they would've probably just thought we were all insane.

What happened to you D: ?

I know you're not complaining. Gosh, my dad has an old one too, and it will lead us half a mile in the opposite direction of where we want to go. Perhaps try Google mapping or Map Questing the destination next time.

Well, since it's such a long tale, I wrote it in my journal. It's mostly me complaining, but everything has piled up so much I've reached my breaking point. And I think I'm going to have to buy a new tablet since I can't find my pen. ;_;
I guess the upside is no one I know has died.

Yeah D:
Though this was exciting, so. xD

Yikes- there's no way to just get a pen, sans tablet?
I'm gonna go read your journal.

Does it always snow so much where you are? It sounds so blizzard-like there all the time.

Here is a picture of a tablet. It allows you to draw with the pen on the pad, so it comes up on your computer. Kind of like drawing on the screen. All those amazing digital artists you see mostly use tablets. I use mine to doodle, and to even do Japanese homework since I can practice writing over and over without getting hand cramps and using up paper. They're expensive, so it's not something I can just go out and buy a new one. If I can't find it in time, I'll probably have to ask for one for my birthday.

Hmm, no, not really xD this is the most snow we've gotten in a looong time. Worst winter since my parents were kids here.

Yeah, I know they're expensive D: I seem to remember Hiei mentioning she wanted one, but couldn't get one 'cause of the money.
But why can't you just get a pen? Is it like... only compatible with the tablet it comes with or something?
Sorry for my ignorance of these things. I'm totally not an artist.

I'm used to lots of snow. I live in a snowy state. =0

Oh, I can bet she'd love one. No, you can only buy the pen and tablet as a set. Another one might work, but I'd have to get a hold of a single pen. Which, is quite hard. I suppose I could always try to get a used tablet over the internet.
It's okay, you probably know a lot of stuff on topics I'm completely ignorant on.

Ooh. I love snow. *_*
I guess my state's pretty snowy this time of year, usually. But we rarely get full-on blizzards- just some gentle snowfall, generally. But this year we've had like three really bad storms! Pretty epic, for us.
We get a ton of rain, though. Lots and lots of rain. And big waves. *____* Those are fun.

Yeah, that might work. I was just on ebay- there's apparently some tablet for sale at like $63... looks more reasonable than some of the other prices. Looks kind of small... I mean, you wanna get the good stuff and all.
I had a similar problem with bassoon reed kits and cases. Don't get me started on that. xD
Yeah, I guess you're right. Unless you know something about shot put, kayaking or bassoon that I don't ;O in which case I'd have to ask you to spill the beans.
