Ok so, as anyone who knows me knows, I'm an Atheist. I don't believe that there is some supreme beign that guides out every action, like a teacher. I think the person who rules over your life, the person who you should worship, is yourself. You are your own 'God'. Now, this isn't the issue here. See, I'm fine with people believing in God, in fact I think it's a good idea to have a 'God' in your life, someone you can turn to when you're lonely, lost, and afraid, it gives people hope, and I'm not about to abolish that hope. I also have no resentment for teachers teaching their students Christian beliefs in Primary School. It's been sweet, this week, watching the reception students say grace before they go into the dinner hall. No, it's the way that children are taught, primarily about Christianity that bugs me.

So one night this week, I come home, a tad stressed out, and my little brother and sister (Samuel and Eleanor respectively) were talking about what they learnt in school today. Please take note that a few years ago, me, Samuel and Eleanor all went to Sunday school. Anyways, they then move on to the topic of God and Jesus...then they ask me about what I think to that question. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it made me reply in a manner similar to this.

"I don't believe in God. I has no opinion" I was stressed out Ok? Plus the kids like it when I don't speak properly to them. They however, weren't happy about that, and started lecturing me about if I don't believe in God...He's going to send me to hell. I asked them who taught them that and they said "School"

Now, I know that I was a bit blunt with them, they're only little. But because they're little they're impressionable. And because they're impressionable...well, the view that they teach them in school really is quite violent. They should at least tell them to respect other peoples opinions on the matter.
