Random Thoughts From The Heart
This is the place where I keep all my pieces of work, original or otherwise.
Blurb From My Book
"Enter!" called out a kingly voice. I looked over my shoulder, and Isaak nodded towards the oak doors, encouraging me to go through. I took a deep breath and pushed them open.
The first thing that hit me was the smell of the room. The air was thick with inscence and exotic oils. Light pink smoke hung in the air like a curtain. I had to stiffle a cough. The scent tingled my nose unpleasently. I jumped and spun around when the giant doors slammed shut with a bang. "Well, there goes my plan for backup," I thought to myself. The walls were high and made of the wood of many birch trees. Intricate carvings covered the entire surface. I walked over to them and ran my hand over some of the carvings. They felt like runes. For some reason, a shiver worked its way up my spine, and I shuddered. There was definately something evil here. "Sam, Sam, please. Look at me." I sighed and turned myself around. The man who had told me to enter was sitting in a golden throne, a gun in his lap. I felt the urge to bow. Instead, I walked up to his fancy chair and looked into his eyes. I saw the fear creeep into his.
"What do you want from me?" I asked venomously. A long, steel, two-handed blade hung at my hip, and I gripped the hilt as a precaution. The man laughed.
"Why, dear Sam-"
"I am not your 'dear' anything. Sir."
"Very well then. As I was saying, I believe you know I have important news?"
"I know that, and many other things."
"Yes, well... Like I said, I think I know why you were chosen to be tested on."
"Go on."
"The truth is..." He hesitated, and I glowered at him. He gulped. I got impatient and drew my sword, the tip at his throat.
"Tell me. Now!" I yelled.
"Okay. You're not going to like it, but I ran tests on your DNA. Sam, you're... You're not human."
"I know."
"No, you must have misunderstood me. What I'm trying to say is, there is not a single drop of human genome in your body. Sam, listen. There is only one explination for this. You're from another planet."
