GHOST TOAST CHAPTER 3
GHOST TOAST CHAPTER 3
“What the?!” Toastie and Bobitha said together “Who are you?” they asked. “I am Meh! King of all Gooians, and ruler of Goo Land!” said the strange black ball. “I am in need of great help. My kingdom, Goo Land, has been attacked and taken over by the evil and notorious Pop-tart people. Please help me o’worthy ones,” he exclaimed and bowed in respect to Toastie and Bobitha. “So you’re the person I am supposed to help! Of course Meh, King of the Gooians, I will help you!” Toastie proclaimed. “Me too!” Bobitha added.
“Good, good, good! You must come at once! The evil and notorious Pop-tart people have several of the villages being held hostage! And they are demanding a ridiculous amount of money for the safe return of those villages!!” Meh exclaimed. “Oh no!” Bobitha and Toastie said. “Follow me!” Meh jumped up to the portal in the ceiling and Toastie followed. “You go on Toastie, we shall be there soon. I have to make the portal bigger for Bobitha,” Meh instructed. Toastie floated through the portal and into Goo Land.
After Toastie disappeared Meh grabbed the edge of the portal and dragged it across the ceiling and onto the wall. “You certainly are quite bigger than me or Toastie,” Meh told Bobitha. He grabbed onto the edge of the portal once more and pulled. At first nothing happened. But then the portal began to grow wider with Meh’s pulling; he stopped pulling when it was about the size for Bobitha to fit through. “Let’s go!” said Meh. Bobitha jumped into the portal with Meh following close behind her.
Toastie looked around him at the vast lush green valley after he had jumped through the portal. He saw few foliage on the barren landscape. He turned to the sound of Bobitha and Meh coming through the portal. “Wow, look at this place!” Bobitha said. “It’s really pretty!” She was staring at the orange sky dotted with pastel clouds and the sun halfway down on the horizon. “It is getting dark we must move to a safe place before the Pop-tart people find out that I have brought you to this world,” Meh said as he pulled on the portals edges toward its middle, shrinking it down. He pulled the portal out of the air, folded it three times and stuck it in his crown.
He led Bobitha and Toastie up a big grassy hill; when they got to the top of the gigantic hill Toastie instantly saw a tiny little boarded up village. It looked like it was abandon, there wasn’t any people anywhere, the little windows where boarded up, and there was even a little tumbleweed blowing through the streets. “Where is everybody?” Toastie asked. Meh lead Toastie and Bobitha down the hill as he explained, “They are hiding from the evil and notorious Pop-tart people because it deceives the Pop-tart people when they try to invade.”
“Oh,” Toastie said. “I see now.” Meh led them through the cobblestone streets to what looked like the main building of the town; he walked up the steps of the three story building and paused at the top. He rapped on the door three times waited ten seconds and then two more times. The gigantic wooden door slowly creaked open. Meh motioned us in the door; Toastie and Bobitha followed Meh through the doorway. Inside everything was pale, dusty, and medieval looking.
Meh lead them to another big door (not as gigantic as the first one) at the back of the room. He opened up the door and waved Bobitha and Toastie inside. As soon as Toastie walked through the door, Meh walked in and shut the door gently and locked the numerous locks decorating the side of the door. “It is safe to talk here,” Meh said. “Down in these tunnels my people have made refuge homes in the caves, we must tell them about you at once! Follow me.” Meh walked down the narrow hallway that they had stepped into followed by Toastie and Bobitha. He turned a sharp corner which led to a big cave with lots of doors on its sides, where all of the villagers had gathered.
Toastie could hear the villager’s murmurs and whispers of excitement and confusion. Just then Meh began to speak, “My humble Gooians, as your King I have sought out a solution to our disastrous problem. And here they are!!” Meh exclaimed as he held up Toastie and Bobitha’s hands. The villager’s cheers were deafening. “I give you Toastie and Bobitha!” Meh yelled. Toastie began to feel good for helping these poor Gooians.
“Come friends, let me show you the rooms you’re staying in for the time,” Meh said. Toastie and Bobitha followed me to a door on the left side of the gathering hall; Meh opened up a door with gold trimming and stepped aside for Toastie and Bobitha to pass. Toastie stepped into the large hallway with velvet carpet and torches along the walls. Wow, this must be the King’s quarters, Toastie thought. Meh closed the door after he and Bobitha had entered. He led Toastie and Bobitha to a pair of doors on the right side of the hallway. He gestured to one, “Toastie, this is your room for the time being. And Bobitha…” he gestured to the other door, “this is your room. The thanking feast is at 6:30; feel free to explore the village! There is lots of interesting spots to see.”
“Thank you, Meh,” Toastie said. “Yeah! Thanks Meh!” Bobitha exclaimed. “No need to thank me, I should be thanking you for helping to defeat the evil and notorious Pop-tart people.”
“Yeah, see you later then,” Toastie told Meh and then walked into his room.
