Axel dropped to his knees. He had used every last bit of strength he had to destroy all of the Nobodies that surrounded Sora. The redhead looked up as Sora looked around at the vast nothingness. Relief flushed over him as he fell on his back and lay looking upwards. He heard the jingle of a keychain and closed his eyes. He felt a sense of peace. He saved him. I did it...
"Axel!" Two voices called: one was a voice of a fifteen year old boy calling to his saviour, the other a sweet melody from a lover. Axel opened his eyes to stare into two crystal blue orbs. He heaved a sigh and waited, "Why did you...?"
"I wanted to see Roxas," He admitted willfully. This was the end, and Axel knew that all too well. He looked into Sora's eyes and smiled at Roxas, "He...Made me feel... Like I had a heart..." Axel saw tears well up in Roxas's eyes. He slowly brought his dissolving hand, and wiped the tear from his eye. Roxas put his hand gently on Axel's and continued crying.
"Don't cry, Roxy..." Axel whispered. It was silent for a moment besides the constant sniff from roxas, until Axel spoke again, "I love you." Roxas managed one small 'ha'.
"Axel," Roxas whispered back, "We don't have hearts... You can't love me."
The redhead shook his head. "I don't care," He closed his eyes, "I still, and always will, love... You..." Axel closed his eyes and disappeared into nothingess. Roxas's eyes grew wide as he felt Axel's hand disappear in his.
"Axel!" Roxas cried out loud as he put his hands on the spot where Axel was just a second ago. Tears flushed madly down his face in hot streaks, "No! Axel!"
Sora stared down at the space where Axel once lay. A tear slowly crawled out his eyes and down his cheek.
