The sun shined brightly, the skies were clear, save for a few clouds out in the distance. The occasional gentle breeze would make it's way through North Tokyo, enveloping those who resided in the North with it's cool embrace. The Cherry Blossoms were beautiful this time of the year, they have all bloomed and now filled the community with their warmth. From the distance, a figure hidden behind sunglasses was seen walking, making the soft 'click clack' of his dress shoes. As he moved closer, he could be seen carrying a duffel bag -which was slung over his shoulder- and a cell phone in his other hand, which was located next to his ear. "Yes... yes sir I understand but-... What do you mean your giving the job to someone else!? You guaranteed me that I had that job! *Sighs* Thanks for your time." The figure hung up his phone and placed it back in his pocket. The figure -obviously a male- reached up for his sunglasses and pulled them off. The sun that glared off of his sunglasses now disappeared, revealing the identity of the man, Chad Thompson. Chad had fallen off the grid of the storm rider world for quite sometime. Chad had been busy with his schooling and trying to get himself a proper education, as well as a job to pay for his schooling. Colleges here in Japan were expensive, especially with the low budget Chad had.
Chad gently wiped a few dust particles off of his sunglasses with his scarf. Chad had turned down onto a path that would lead him back to his apartment, as he kept walking his foot kicked something lying in the street. He looked to see a small object rolling around in a circle, with a flashing red light on it. Curious as to what it was, Chad walked up to the object, kneeling down before it and picked up for a closer observation. Turning it over a few times, Chad found the object to be a tiny skull with flashing red eyes. Chad's eyes widened, he remembered this object almost as if it was clear as day. A Storm Rider named Ral had entered Ragnarok Territory and sliced up their Medical Hummer! Wait... Ragnarok? That's right! Chad had ridden with a renown team known as Ragnarok. Ragnarok was what made Chad a Storm Rider. Chad tossed the object in the air a few times, smiling to himself. He couldn't believe that he had already forgotten about such important memories. He tossed the object high into the air one last time, looking up as it went his face went from a smile, and faded into a look of disbelief. Chad was looking up at the old Ragnarok Head Quarters.
Only it was not the Head Quarters he once knew. The old HQ was colorful, having been filled with lots of technology that was funded by members of the team Akio Shirogane and Miki Fuyuu. But now, the building had been run down, and it looked like many of the technologies inside were missing now. Many broken windows, as well as graffiti covering the walls reading "Ragnarok Sucks! So much for protecting the North! Learn how to Fly pansies!" Chad stared at the graffiti covered walls of the building, he couldn't believe it, the fact that such a renown team had fallen. Was it Chad's fault? Was it because he had left the team when they might have needed him and caused Ragnarok to disband? All sorts of question began to race through Chad's mind, but then everything had subsided when he saw something shiny catch his eye. Chad knelt down next to the new shiny object and picked it up. Tears almost filled his eyes as he looked at the burning remains of a badge that bore the emblem of Ragnarok on it. Chad couldn't believe it. The team was everything to them. Akio, Miki, Bars, Ichengo, Jason, Ron, himself. Together they were Ragnarok, one of the most powerful Storm Rider teams known in the world.
Chad sat on the steps that led into HQ, and let his mind fall back onto the memories he cherished with his team. The first time he joined Ragnarok, his first Parts War which was against his good friend Miki. His battle with the Flame King Faiz Kaen, it all brought tears to Chad's eyes. He sat in silence, the occasional breeze blowing by, forcing his hair into his eyes, while also stirring around the cherry blossoms on the ground. Chad played with the burnt insignia of Ragnarok, twisting it in and out of his fingers, letting his memories overwhelm him in their warm, yet sorrowful embrace.
