There She Goes Again
*Sigh* Yet another short story I won't finish... :/

Riddix was a beautiful city. It really was. From the sparkling water that shimmered brighter then the armor-like scales of a silver fish, to the metal skyscrapers which towered high with their cold, spiraling structures.
Riddix was advanced, to say the least. While the city was beautiful, it was most well known for the "droids" they produced. These droids were a breakthrough, something the world had not experienced yet.
A droid appeared almost identical to a human. But truth was, a droid was nothing more than a cold, hard shell, for they had no soul, no emotions. They were designed to do tasks, -and nothing more- so they had no need for a soul. The droids also were given a cold, pitchless, droning voice, so as not to confuse anyone as to what they truly were. Even when treated nicely, the first droids created acted in an indifferent manner. Whoever the first original creator was, he made these artificials beautiful. There had never been a human in Riddix more perfect than a droid.
Soon, the scientists in Riddix realized that these droids were so indifferent and robotic that people were having horrible nightmares about them. So, they worked on fixing them. They gave the droids personality and a little bit of reasoning. Why not?
These droids were extremely successful, and became the most produced. But still, the city of Riddix kept them to themselves, and the world didn't question or challenge this.
There was one droid, by the name of LD105. It was set to work for one of most important scientists of Riddix. He performed many experiments on LD105. He also made her increasingly human, giving her choice and emotions. The other scientists felt this was dangerous, experimenting with human emotions in something that was artificial. The scientist shrugged this off, and told him he knew exactly what he was doing.
LD105 was practically human. All except for her droid voice. Every droid had the exact same voice, and every time she heard her own voice and it's broken dullness, she felt empty.
One day, the scientist designed a new invention. He could use a real human voice on a droid, and who better to test it on than LD105?
So the scientist decided he would test this on her. LD105 agreed happily, although he told her that there were "strings attached" to this voice. He warned her that, though the voice was hers, he had created it, so it was his. LD105 had no objections and happily let him give her the voice.
After installing it, LD105's voice was magnificent. It even made her creator gasp.
For about a month period, the scientist forced her to sing for him. Everyday, he made her sing one song, over and over again until she was sick with hatred at not only the once beautiful song, but towards the scientist too. Since the voice was artificial, her throat never became sick. LD105 had no excuses.
One day, she had had enough of the scientist's demands and decided to leave the city in search for something more fulfilling than being tested on and being forced to sing against her will.
Soon, LD105 found a city much like Riddix, but with no droids, called Lenox. There in a beautiful and busy courtyard, a man was playing guitar. A strange instrument to her. But even stranger was that he was singing, like her. With a voice. But, of course, not nearly as perfect or beautiful as LD105...
The droid was astounded by this. She had never heard anyone sing before.
She slowly walked up to him. The man turned to her and smiled, still singing and strumming his guitar.
LD105 sang along. She followed his words carefully.
The guitarman looked strangely at her, yet continued to sing, seeing she was following the words slowly.
The words flowed softly at first, but grew louder and louder as she found she could sing something different.
LD105's eyes lit up like a child, and the man smiled at her. A small crowd began to appear. They were absolutely astounded by the sound of her voice. And, by chance,
TO BE CONT'D. >:T
