Imaginary Friends
Part 1 of ?

xxxxxPrussia looked warily, from side-to-side. His heart was beating a mile a minute. Anyone who knew him would not have recognized him, he was so scared.
xxxxxHe could feel someone watching him. When a nation was being watched, they might know it. When a nation was being watched by something magical, they knew it full well. Something dangerous and magical was near. How long would it be until it showed itself?
xxxxxThe silence was broken by the sound of crunching. A shriek of horror from Prussia followed it. He stumbled back and gazed upon the one who had been following him. Leaning on a tree, half-eaten apple in hand, was a man. His hair was a fiery red, and the wavy mess stuck out behind him. A pair of mischievous, yellow orbs stared into Prussia's red ones.
xxxxx"Wh-who are you?" Trembling like a leaf in the wind, the boy drew his sword on this man who reeked of danger. There was no sound but the crunching of the apple for a few minutes as the stranger did nothing but eat. After there was only a core, which he promptly threw away, and he had licked his fingers clean, the fiery-haired man finally replied.
xxxxx"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's polite to introduce yourself first?" He shook his head in disgust and gave a disapproving look to the midieval nation. His glares sent shivers down the albino's spine. However, the man did nothing but shrug. "'Course, my manners are even worse than yours. For I am the God of Mischief! Master of the Trolls! The feared magician!" He struck an arrogant and bold pose. Prussia began to remember one of his grandgrandfather's tales.

"Hey Grandpa! Grandpa!" A young teutonic pulled on the cape of his grandfather. Infamous grin flashing, he looked up at Germania. "Will you tell me another story?"
xxxxxThe older man grunted and sat down. Excited, his grandson followed suit. Grandpa could be boring and quiet sometimes, but he told the best stories. There was no doubt about it, in Gilbert's mind.
xxxxx"Well, let's see..." Thoughtfully, Germania rubbed his chin. Gilbert's thirst for his stories never ran out. Bloody battles of the Aesir left him in awe. The blonde man knew exactly what tale to tell him.
xxxxx"Alright. So, one day, the great Woden sat on his mighty throne where he could see all of creation with his one eye. As he looked upon Jotunheimr, he spotted an amazing sight. It was definitely a jotunn, but he was handsome, and could be mistaken for an Aesir. He displayed feats of intelligence great enough to rival Woden's himself. He just had to go and meet this intruiging jotunn. And as he did, he found himself so charmed by the man that he asked for them to be blood brothers, and for him to come to Asgard with him. The tricky jotunn accepted, and said, 'I already know your name, Woden, but let me tell you mine. They call me...'"

xxxxx"Loki."
xxxxxThe fiery-haired man gave him a crafty grin. The little boy had finally caught on. His naughtiness rivaled the God of Mischief's himself, but his intelligence was not exactly on par with his.
xxxxx"You're Loki, the Aesir," Gilbert murmured with awe. Many times had his grandfather cursed Loki for everything under the sun, but still the young German sympathized with the trickster of all others. Anyone could throw a hammer or guard a bridge, but who was clever enough to steal from dwarves or trick his other Aesir?
xxxxx"Well, of course I am. Who did you think I was, a salmon? Wait, I was one once..." As he Gilbert remembered the tale of how Loki fled from the Aesir, suddenly something quite out of place dawned upon him.
xxxxx"Wait, if you're supposed to be chained to a rock until Ragnarok, then how can you be here?" Tutting, Loki gave an admonishing look to the boy, and sighed. Gilbert in return gave him a grumpy look. It was not a stupid question!
xxxxx"I am the master of magic, you know. I can be any place I want, even if I am chained to that damned rock. It's a non-physical form, so I can't do much magic. And, of course, I still feel the pain in my body. But if I was stuck there for however many years, I would go out of my mind, even with Sigyn there. So, I decided to follow you, my little friend. The Norse of my homeland have forsaken me, but you're the only one who has sympathy for me. I'll help you out, and you'll go far." After the lengthy monologue, he gave a wink to young Prussia. After a few stupified moments, he grinned from ear-to-ear. Sheathing his sword, he gave his answer to Loki.
xxxxx"Of course! Who wouldn't want to be aroun the awesome me?" He stood proudly, unaware of how this would turn out for the both of them.

So. Read and review, yes? Does this suck? Is Loki cool? Is APH out of style now? Is Loki reaaally cool of what?
Some notes:
I would've put the German word for grandfather instead, but they wouldn't be speaking modern German, they would've been speaking old German. Which I know nothing about.
I've also taken some liberties with Norse Mythology. I...I just like the idea of Loki hanging out with Prussia. I feel bad about it anyway, though.
