Stripe's Oh-so-exciting Journal
I dunno. I guess I'll just post writing here. Or something
Agape and Eros
Agape's heart pounds as she skids through the hallways, desperately trying to make it back to her room. It's a stroke of luck that nobody else happens to be around - there's nobody to rat her out in case things truly go wrong.

Finally, she finds her door and slips inside, only slowing down for a moment to make sure she doesn't slam it too loudly. That would only make it too obvious that she was out - something she can't allow to happen. She immediately rushes over to her mirror, and begins to fix up her haggard appearance as best she can. She flattens out her hair a bit, to make it look as though it was never caressed by the wind outside, and adjusts her pure white, to prove that she most certainly was not running around.

Once she finishes this, she can hear the soft fluttering of wings outside of her door - the sign that she needs to look busy. Agape practically throws herself at her bed and snatches the copy of Pride & Prejudice that is still sitting on her nightstand. She flips it open to the middle, as though she's been reading the entire time, and waits.

Knock, knock.

"Agape? Are you in there?" This is the unmistakable voice of Eros. She looks up from her book and stares at the door.

"Of course I am," she says, trying to use as innocent a voice as possible, even as a grin begins to stretch across her face. She doesn't know how the rebels can put up with this kind of thing all the time - or more accurately, how they get away with it.

"Can I come in?"

Agape shrugs, even though she knows that Eros can't see her. "Come on in," she says, and she pretends to be tied up in reading her book when he floats in. She only glances up for a second to catch the suspicious expression across his face, but otherwise decides to let him start the conversation. Agape doesn't completely trust herself to not give up information accidentally.

"Have you been here all day?" Eros asks in a manner that clearly implies that he doubts this to be true. Agape just flashes an innocent smile at him.

"Of course I have," she lies. "Jane Austen is an excellent writer. I can just read this book from dawn to dusk!" Eros looks at the book still resting in her hands, and though he still doesn't seem totally convinced by her excuse, he seems to be satisfied with it for the time being.

"If you say so," he says with a somewhat dismissive gesture. "Just so long as you weren't off looking for Apollo. He's no good for you, you know."

It's all Agape can do to keep from giggling like a little schoolgirl, because this is precisely what she was doing. Somehow, however, she manages to restrain her laughter and answer with a somewhat-straight face: "Of course not."

There is a brief moment of awkward silence before Eros finally nods, and flutters out of the room. Agape considers calling him on the fact that he didn't even say goodbye, but she decides against it - the urge to laugh is too great at the moment. And, indeed, once she's sure he's out of earshot, she bursts out into a fit of giggles.

Maybe there's something to this "rebelling" thing, after all.
