Here we go, random stuff. Banners I've created, as well as a few other graphics will go here. Also stories about my characters, etc. etc.
DmitryxEcho
This is just a short side-story for my character Dmitry, dealing with the woman he loved leaving him.
Keep in mind it needs a LOT of editing. This is just the rough first draft. <3

When she left, he’d been crushed. He didn’t know what to do with himself. The only human being who’d given him some semblance of a reason to be had disappeared, along with everything he had left. Sure, he had plenty of ladies to mess around with, to ******** and leave and flirt with. But as much as he hated to admit it, none of them had meant anything to him. He cared about them, he loved them as intensely as it was possible for him to do at the time, gave them what he could. But after a while, the heart was spread so thin that there wasn’t anything left to go around. They were fighting over crumbs, scraps of love. And that got tiring very fast. When she left, she hadn’t even said goodbye. She’d left him a letter, telling him not to worry, and that she’d be well taken-care of. He’d stared at that letter for hours, sitting on his bed, where she’d slept in his arms only minutes before. He’d felt something inside him break, something that wasn’t strictly physical, but hurt almost as bad. He could have sworn he’d heard it snapping. He’d sat that way until the sun went down, wasted a whole day rereading her words and trying to figure out what they meant. Mostly, he was trying to find some reason to think that she’d come back. She’d never left him this way before, she always let him wake up and make her breakfast, and just because she knew he liked to do it.

When she left, he’d lost the reason to do a lot of things. He stopped answering texts from his gang. He obliterated his entire stock of drugs. He didn’t cry. He wasn’t that type of guy. She said she’d be safe, and he believed her, so there was no reason for him to be sad… But damn he missed her. He missed her softness, her warmth as she lay fully clothed in his arms. He’d never even tried to get her to sleep with him that night, and he wasn’t sure if he should have. Maybe she would have stayed, but maybe it would have made her upset, too. He didn’t know what was right. He tried to forget her, as the letter suggested he could do. The letter lay on the floor, discarded and gathering dust as he tried every method he knew to forget his pain. The women didn’t help, and the quality of them went farther and farther down the more drugs he consumed. Some days he couldn’t drag himself out of bed to find another woman to sleep with, sometimes he didn’t want to. None of them felt as good in his arms as she had, and they weren’t helping him to forget. He’d started taking heavier drugs, things he’d never messed with before. He was a pothead, sure, but he wasn’t stupid. But the pot wasn’t helping anymore. At least not without a line of coke, and a little heroin mixed in. Then it helped a little bit.

When she left, he’d left the gang. He’d loved it, he liked them all, but there was no reason to be in a gang if she wasn’t there. One day Naosuke showed up at his apartment. He’d brought the tiny silver-haired French girl with him. Dmitry didn’t care why. The visit had been short-lived; Dmitry figured that the needles lying around made her uncomfortable, and Nao got her out of there quickly. He came back later, cleaned up the apartment and took away Dmitry’s drugs. That night was when he cried. Alone in bed, feeling the effects of withdrawal from drugs and the girl he wanted more than life, he curled up and cried. His world had faded to blackness. He stayed in bed for weeks, forcing himself to get over the hump of withdrawal, cursing himself for falling that far, knowing that Echo wouldn’t like it, and then sobbing quietly at the knowledge that she didn’t care anymore. He hoped she was happy, she hadn’t mentioned happiness in the letter. There were so many things he would say to her, he could have found a way for her to stay, no matter what it was that drew her away from him. When he ventured outside, he wandered the city like a zombie, ignoring the addicts that hailed him from various street corners. He didn’t care anymore. He’d go back to it, he liked what he did, it earned him money that he needed to survive. But he didn’t have to do it now, and he didn’t trust himself with that much contraband at the moment.

Slowly he recovered. He went back to what he did best, but he was never fully better. He smoked more than he ever had before, just to make the pain go away. His nightmares now were of a sadder tendency, the sight of her back disappearing out the door. Life went by slowly. He grew older, but nothing ever satisfied his sorrow. There were plenty of girls who tried, but they always left at the end of the night. No one stayed the night anymore, no one got pancakes and orange juice, or a blunt that he’d rolled before they woke. He had no desire to do that anymore. He’d lost a lot of desire, in a lot of ways. Instead of a girl a night, he had a girl every few weeks. He still flirted; otherwise his reputation would go down. But he didn’t follow through all the time anymore. There wasn’t a point to it. He hung out with Nao and his new girlfriend more often, but it was never the same. Of course it wasn’t. Nao was great, but he wasn’t sweet and soft and he didn’t always smell like Dmitry’s favorite things. He didn’t know just what to say to ease Dmitry’s mind, and he never needed Dmitry to rush in to save him. Dmitry’s heart felt as if half of it was missing, and the other half was stretched and tired and his chest hurt. One day Nao looked at him seriously, and told him he should find her and tell her how he felt. His eyes opened wide at that. How he felt? How did he feel… She was the only girl he’d ever been able to keep around for long.

She was the only one he wanted to see every day, which he looked forward to hanging out with. She was the only one who was game for all his schemes and who’d try his new weed and lay on a roof with him for hours just smoking it. She was the only one who’d lie in his arms all night and not be afraid that he would cop a feel. She was the only one who didn’t care if he copped a feel. His heart dropped when he realized that she’d been the only one he wanted. And he’d lost her. He’d loved that she didn’t make demands on him, or want him to commit. He’d loved that about her, but as he realized that his fear of commitment had kept him from realizing that he was painfully in love with her, he swore and cursed and spent days angry with himself. He’d been so afraid to become his father that he hadn’t paid any attention to what was good for him. She was good for him. She was what he needed, and he’d been too stupid to realize it. But he’d ever been the persistent one. Any woman he’d pursued could attest to that. And now that he knew what he wanted, he was going to get it.

It had been years since then, and he’d found out whatever information he could, searching for her. He’d never asked her many questions about her past, maybe that was why they got along so well. But he’d managed to glean a few things, and he knew she’d be here. It was the only reason he’d attend Prince’s party. Otherwise he’d rather just go get high somewhere and find his own form of entertainment. He stood leaning against a doorjamb, fingering the blunt in his pocket, looking around. He’d grown, gotten older and smarter. More attractive as well, in his opinion, but that was for her to judge. He didn’t look at Nao when he appeared, smiling and patting his shoulder. He told Dmitry to make sure he told her exactly how he felt this time, or she’d slip away again. He nodded and kept his brown eyes on the crowd. They were still as earthy brown as they’d always been, but they were wider and clearer than ever. He was completely sober. He needed to be, if he was going to have the balls to do this. Other things had changed about him too. He’d let his hair grow out more, and with some actual care it had become soft and silky and cascaded down his broad shoulders when he didn’t braid it or put it in a ponytail. It was down today, he’d been too nervous to remember to deal with it, and fell reassuringly down his back. He’d gotten bulkier since he’d last seen her. He still wasn’t any football player, of course. But he wasn’t quite as lanky and wiry as he used to be. He hoped she liked the way he looked now… He wondered whether she looked any different. Maybe he’d already missed her! His pupils dilated for a moment in fear, as he looked harder for her sweet face.

His eyes lighted on a figure in the distance, and he sighed. He hadn’t missed her. He could never miss her. She was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. He ignored Nao’s knowing look as he headed through the crowd, making a beeline for the girl who was mingling on the other side of the room. When he reached her, he scooped her up and carried her out into a hallway. Putting her down gently, he pressed her tightly against him and kissed her desperately. It felt like heaven and sweetness and everything he loved. His hair formed a curtain around them as it slipped down to frame her face. It hid them from the outside world, and he wished it would last forever. When he pulled away, he left his lips pressed to hers and whispered in a broken voice. “I missed you.” There were so many things he wanted to say, but those three words had enough force behind them for years of misery. He sighed and pulled away, leaning against the wall beside her and pulling one of her hands into his. “You look beautiful.” She really did. She’d matured as much as he had, if not more. She held herself differently, and he smiled to see her busty figure again. But the smile faded as he realized there was something he still needed to address.

He pressed his lips to hers again softly, and looked into her eyes. “I heard you’re engaged to be married to some fool.” He stopped, a lump forming in his throat. This was his last chance. If she didn’t want him at all, she’d marry that man and he’d lose her forever. He pulled her close to him again, holding her and just enjoying the feeling. “He won’t love you like I can. No one can love you like I can. Just say the word and it’ll be forever, Echo.” It felt so good to say her name again. He wanted her bad. He’d decided on his plan since he knew he was going to find her here tonight. But now he knew exactly what to do. He kissed her one more time. “I’m not lettin’ you go this time though, baby. Because I went there once, and I’m not goin’ back without a fight.” He gently traced her jawline with the pads of his fingers. “I’ll make you happy baby, happier than you’d ever be with someone else.” He leaned in close to her ear and after running his tongue along the shell of his ear, he whispered in his low bass. “Just you. There aren’t any other girls I want, baby. It’s always been you. And I won’t leave you alone until you’re mine.”
