Chapter Five: Mistakes make the heart grow fonder/ Summer 12th

Elli woke up as she looked out her window. The sun was just beginning to rise. She laid in her bed as she thought to herself. She developed a puzzle look on her face. Last night she had dreamt of Adam, and he was cooking food like he did yesterday, but then he set down the pan walked over to her and kissed her on the lips. Elli lightly put a finger against her lips as she thought to herself. “His lips were so warm…” She then grabbed and pulled at her hair. “AAAAGGHHHH!!! What am I thinking?! I like the doctor!!! But… then again…” Elli sat up in her bed as she frowned slightly. “He has his eyes set on another girl… I think…”

Elli let out a heavy sigh as she walked to her bathroom and took a quick shower and changed into her normal outfit. She noticed the doctor was still asleep. She smiled slightly as she walked downstairs. She walked into the clinics kitchen as she made herself some toast with jelly and some cereal. She heard the doctor come down stairs as she continued to eat. “Good morning doctor.” Trent grunted as he poured himself some coffee. Elli smiled slightly as she dealt with her dishes and opened the clinic. She then sat behind her desk as Trent sat behind his desk working with all of his new herbs.

The bell to the door shortly rang after Elli had opened the clinic. Adam walked in and smiled at her. He waved slightly then sneezed. “Excuse you.” Elli smiled slightly. Adam nodded and smiled as we walked to Trent’s office and gave him the herbs. Trent smiled and handed Adam his normal amount of money as Adam thanked him and then walked back to Elli. “Hey…” Adam turned his head and sneezed again. Elli laughed. “Hi. How are you?” Adam shrugged. “Same old, same old…” Elli continued to smile as they continued to chat. Suddenly, the door to the clinic slammed open as the Supermarket owner, Jeff, stumbled in, gripping his stomach. “H-Help…” He soon collapsed on the floor as Elli rushed over to him. “Doctor! We need assistance!!!” She tried to pick up Jeff but he was far too heavy than her. Adam walked over and picked Jeff up with ease as Trent lead then to one of the patient rooms. Adam set Jeff in the bed as Jeff scrunched up in pain. “Get me his medicine Elli!!” Trent somewhat roared, while both him and Adam trying to get Jeff to settle down.

Elli rushed back with some medicine. “Here you are doctor...” Trent looked at the bottle and then gave it back to her. “That’s not Jeff’s medicine.” Elli blushed with embarrassment. “Your right… I’m sorry doctor…” Elli bowed as she went back and quickly grabbed Jeff’s medicine. She rushed back as Trent opened the lid and asked Adam to get a glass of water. Adam nodded as he grabbed a glass from the cabinet and filled it up with water. He walked back to Trent, careful not to spill any liquid as Trent put the pill in Jeff’s mouth as poured water and instructed Jeff to drink the water. Jeff reluctantly drank the water and then shortly fell asleep after.

About a half hour later, Jeff finally woke up. Elli was washing dishes as Trent was sitting back as his desk. Adam had found a chair and took a short nap beside Jeff to make sure nothing could happen. Jeff sat up and walked over to Trent as Adam and Elli followed after. Jeff bowed and thanked everyone and shortly left, for he had work to do. Trent smiled as he sat back in his chair and continued to look at herbs as Adam and Elli walked back to Elli’s desk, closing Trent’s door after them. Elli let out a heavy sigh as she sat in her chair. Adam sat in front of her desk and stared at her. “What’s wrong?” Elli shook her head as if it was nothing. Adam glared at her more. “Tell me what’s wrong… Now.” Elli gulped slightly. Adam had a scary glare that sent chills up and down her spine.

She sighed once again. “I messed up in front of the doctor. Sure it seemed like nothing, but… I’ve never messed up before…” Her head hung. Adam stood and stretched. “Eh. Don’t let yourself get too glum. These things happen. It’s alright” He smiled as he gave her a thumb up. Elli lifted her head and couldn’t help but smile a little. Adam then looked at his watch. “Well, I better take my leave… Got some more work to finish.” He waved at Elli as he walked out. Elli put her hand on her chest. Her heart was beating quickly. She wondered why as she sat in her desk and began to eat some lunch.
