BIOGRAPHY:
Edgar Wickensworth was born in England on July 14, xxxx. His mother and father are both from very wealthy and noble families. His father is a politician in parliament and also owns half of a very profitable trading company. His mother is a distant relative of the queen (she is a dutchess). Edgar’s parents were never around when he was young—his father always either in parliament or in a meeting with his partner and his mother attending social gatherings in London. His sister used to dress him up in their clothing and put him in makeup and force him to have tea parties with them (these events have inspired many of his current nightmares). When Ed was six, Franklin, Aldrich and Adele moved in with 2nd Lt. Sampson, Ed’s neighbor. Frank would come over and play with him, which allowed Ed to escape the torture of his sisters (for this he has always been grateful of Franklin). On rainy days, when no one ventured outdoors, Edgar would sit inside and read the Encyclopedia of Plants(first edition)—he loved all of the colors and descriptions. When Franklin left and joined the army, Edgar became reclusive. He spent most of his time alone on the garden with the Encyclopedia of Plants clutched tightly in his hands and his watering pot given to him by Franklin as a parting gift (Edgar had given a journal and a book of poetry in return, it is this that spurred Franklin’s interest in writing poetry). He learned all of the plants names by heart and began working in the garden taking care of the plants, with help from their gardener. He soon started his own little “secret garden” filled with numerous colorful flowers and exotic plants. He did not let anyone in to his garden(His garden used to be an old graveyard, it was there long before Edgar's house was built. The bodies in the graveyard were exhumed when the Wickensworths decided to build their house, but the large stonewall and gate that surrounded the graveyard remained). He left a whole section of his garden full of beautiful red and yellow petunias, his favorite flower. For four years his obsession for flowers grew and his enjoyment of being around people dropped. At the end of the fourth year, Franklin returned. He started visiting their house quite often, Edgar thought this was so because of his attractive sisters who were of marrying age.
