weird violent dream
They were called the ____ Powers. (I can't remember the first word, but their emblem, which is also fuzzy, was red and black, with an intricate pattern created by thin lines of pale gold.)

It started with a hovercraft. I was in a city, on some sort of "field trip" that I had kept getting in trouble on throughout. (This really is just the last quarter of my dream)

We had been standing on a roof or a large balcony with a city street below us. The buildings were all low, none taller than 3 feet, and the sky was mostly clear and bright blue. There was a car pulled up at the stop light, a convertible with its roof down. I'm not exactly sure what they were, but there were three "people' in the convertible, wearing what looked like white sheets over them with sleeves and their brains (?!) sticking out from the top. There were patches and pockets on those robes.

The hovercraft. It flew out of nowhere, a pale slate colored plastic box with an angular slopping roof. It flew fast, and crashed on the street past the car, sliding. Someone, a man, popped his upper half out of a window I couldn't see and the hovercraft lifted up again, wobbling/fishtailing erratically. It zipped forward past the convertible, spun, and passed it again by only a few feet this time.

As it turned slowly in the air once more, its nose pointing up slightly, I realized that the man hanging out the window had produced a light saber and lopped one of the "men" in half. His other half was on the road behind them, bloodless but with organs threatening to spill out.

Just as I realized this, the hovercraft finished its slow turn and zipped forward. Another robed thing was killed, spilling gore all over the road. Nobody seemed to be moving - not the people around me, not the driver who was left - and a few seconds later, that driver crumpled to the floor of his car, his head (?) bouncing away on the street. I remember thinking "I hope no one was alive in there" despite the bits of brain, intestine, and fleshy insides that now decorated the street. (It really was entirely bloodless)

It finally occurred to me as the hovercraft spun around again that this could be dangerous. I leaped off the deck (we had somehow changed environments to my old neighborhood, but that's dreams for you), and rand into the basement, locking the door. Instinct made me whirl, and I saw a garage door in my basement (that isn't there in real life) wide open with two of the people part of the same organization as those with the hovercraft.

They're lazily milling around, until one of them casually sets a large, flat, bat-shaped red and black object just inside the basement while the other steps back and closes the garage door.

It's a bomb.

I charge across the room and up the basement stairs, praying I have those 10 seconds to escape; I do, and run out of the wide-windowed kitchen I ended up in (just as another craft zips past the window). This leads me past the sitting room, and I see my dad and brother sitting there. I howl at them that a bomb is about to blow and to RUN, but they stare at me as if I'm nuts. I hadn't stopped running, and once I reached the front door in view from the sitting room, the blast rips through that room, hurling me against the door. I didn't see what happened to them.

I yank open the door, and my dream sense told me that the ____ Powers were now busy eradicating people from the inside of their homes. I hauled myself up onto the roof of my house, scrambling over it and leaping onto the next roof and crawling over that one too, looking for any likely hiding spot. (There were technically many, the way our roofs are shaped, but none of them satisfied me) When I turned a corner of the roof, I ended up bumping into my neighbor and her husband. She beams at me, panting and laughing, and in retrospect seemed un-bothered by this despite where she was and how much she was sweating. She said something to me I can't remember, and we both climbed over/around each other. (I remember accidentally grabbing her boob, and there was this awful crackling feel under my hand, as if I was crushing her rib)

I don't remember the details between that and the next segment I remember. This next part's sounds were so vivid. Loud, detailed, and complete with a soundtrack.

We were in a narrow hall, the walls made of stone with high ceilings. One side is blank - just stone. The other side is a long line of doors placed in arches. There are 8 doors, I think, and each revolves to open. (It's just the one, oddly cut slab of wood, though, that acts as a door). Above these doors are more fancy arches with ancient designs here and there. This hall is narrow enough that those of us who are there can only stand with two of us next to each other to leave 5 feet between us and the doors on the opposite wall. None of us do. We want to keep as much space between us and those doors. Everything glows with the orange light of fire that streams through the windows above the doors, though I can't actually see any fire.

Every time you attacked a door, a random colored... thing would pop out - either blue, red, yellow or (I think) green. It's weird, but 'things' are what I call them. They looked human, with grey, grave faces visible from under their helmets, and wearing ancient armor bathed in one color.

I had struck three different doors several times to experiment with the randomness of which color thing would pop out and attack us. It seemed that this area was almost considered a test for us. One person, a tall man with shoulder-length sandy blond hair, was being loudly cocky about the whole thing, though I can't remember what he said either. (He seemed well-informed about this whole thing.) As he spoke, I looked up at the windows above those doors and realized there was a whole line of noble things, of the blue variety, staring down at us with grim faces. There are women there, too, looking much older than their years because of the grey color of their skin.

I begin to hear a narrator of sorts silently telling me about a woman named Julie who had been dragged down in the pits of this place. As it speaks, the voice becoming more and more solid, I start frantically putting puzzle pieces together, as if I'm suddenly seeing this hall in third person and must complete the picture.

"They took her..." the voice suddenly says, its deep gravelly voice rising over the echoes of fighting and cries of pain, and I hear music, a single voice swelling. "They touched her...." The voice sounds gleeful, and more so the louder it gets. "They destroyed her.... They breathed her...." One piece left, with several gaps left in the puzzle. It doesn't fit either of them, and there is silent laughter that I can only feel. "What did they want her to be?"

And then I woke up, JUST as I had started to look up at what I had been putting together.

I will say that my impression of what I had been trying to put together was a bright golden being bound with equally golden ropes, writhing in agony.
