~God Must be Crying~

The darkened sky is gloomy and dead
While the water droplets hit the top of their heads
Feet squish against the wet ground
The wind howls like a pained blood hound

God must be crying

Black umbrellas’ all spot the streets
The air is heavy like a humid summer heat
People all run, trying to get out of the storm
Reaching out quickly to get on the other side of the door

God must be crying

The angry lighting beats in the sky
Thunder roars like a radio tuned on high

God must be crying

It’s something normal on earth
Nothing different to expect
It may not frighten most people
But for some it’s a wreck

God must be crying
My father must be crying
~This was actually very hard to write. Not because it was so long but because it had so much to do with my own life. This young girl is so depressed that nothing in her life matters anymore. She wants nothing to do with the world anymore and she hates everything about herself and hates being near other people. She only lies to keep them from worrying and in the end she dies in her sleep from such a crushed heart.~

~The Dark Abyss~

She wakes up every morning
Her routine but a blur
Every time she looks in the mirror
Yet another hope crushes, awaiting a cure

All she wanted to do was crawl back into bed
Stare up at the ceiling and feel the tears she would shed
She never knew why she always felt this way
But she knew, for sure, it was the same everyday

She would walk in the kitchen
Her face all but blank
As she reached for her glass
Her mother would stare and wait

“Tell me now, my own sweet daughter
Why you wake up each day
With your eyes filled with water.”

“Why do you always look so tired and sad?
Why do you either look angry or mad?
At times your face is blank and expressionless.
At others you come in looking like a mess.

And every time the girl would say the same thing.

“I am very well and fine, my loving mother.
Don’t worry for me, my only father.
This is just a phase I am sure will pass on
But until then, neither one of us has won.”

The young girl knew telling this was a lie.
But she, herself, didn’t even know why.
There has been no death; there has been no heartbreak,
It came on quick, like a bite from a snake.

She always felt so empty inside
No matter what she did
She never felt quite alive

She would head off to school, still feeling the same
She knew people would stare, yet nothing had changed
Her day would fly by, and she would beg for nothing more
She would come back home, her eyes now sore.

The rest of her night would be boring and slow
Her parents would ask and she’d still have nothing to show.
She would get ready for bed and pray for some sleep
But she knew she’d be up, for she knew she would weep.

She didn’t know why she cried
For nothing had upset her
But she knew there was something
She just didn’t know why.

Her eyes grew weary
Her mind now tired
As she waited
For her peaceful sleep to find her.

She loved sleep.
There is nothing better than this.
And she felt one last tear
As she slowly sank into her abyss.
