Have you seen Onima?

Not since that whole thing with Carl happened, no.

Excuse me. Have you seen Onima?

I haven't. Have you seen Zapook? I think she's still mad at me...

Sister-dear, you have not seen of Onima, have you?

Pfft. If I knew where that little nuisance was, I wouldn't be fricken starvin' right now.

Tina searched High and low, all over the ship after noticing that Onima has been very quiet. She found Onima at the bow, watching a black moth circle her head. Tina, with a smile, made her way toward Onima to check on her. The presence of another was enough scared the small black moth over the side of the ship. Tina's smile then faded as she watch Onima walk right off the ship, following the moth.

A scream rung out, loud enough to startle everyone else out toward the deck. Bright blue skies met them at he door as they emerged, and immediately went over to toward Tina, who was leaned over the railing. Quickly pulling her back, they saw tears in her eyes, and no sign of Onima.

A few days had passed, and even though they were down a member, things still ran smoothly. The ship was slowly starting to break apart, however, and Zapook realized this before everyone else...though she wasn't able to properly tell everyone. Aussa went down to the engine room to, bring Zapook some food. Zapook, however, refused to step outta the dark and become visible, and said not a word as a long fur covered arm reached out of the shadows toward the food Aussa had be carrying. Startled at first, she stared at the arm, and slowly dropped the wrapped meat into the clawed hand, which quickly disappeared into the dark confines of the engine room once more. The sounds of teeth gnashing and growling was enough to make her back out of the room, and run back up to the moonlit deck.

Tina and Louie were in their beds for the night, and Zee was perched on the railing at the very tip of the ship. Not knowing what else to do at the time, Aussa walked over, leaning on the railing as she sat in silence with Zee for a few minutes.

She'll be back you know.

Aussa looked over at Zee curiously, jumping from the silence suddenly being broken.
She then peered over the side where small purple, orange and green mushrooms had began growing on the ships haul.

Relentless little thing... We'll just have to make sure nothin happens to them before she comes back.

Uh...yeah. Sure.

Something on your mind?

No no...I'm just ready to go home...

I'm ready to get this over with too.

She looked up at Zee, who was glaring into the pitch black horizon.

You seem like you're waiting for something.

Sorta.

What?

...

Onima?

Sure.

Oh...

The silence was becoming awkward.

Can I ...Go hunting with you next time?

I don't see why not.

Really?

As long as you can keep up, and pull your own weight, I don't care.

The two of them stared out into the night's sky for quite a while, until a low rumble started to echo around them. This noise was followed by the sounds of Zee's growling, as they both have become familiar with the sound of another ship lurking nearby. It was as if Zapook had heard it as well, since they're own engine suddenly grew eerily quiet, and dark. The only light was that from the full moon overhead.

The clouds to their left began to morph as something slowly tore through them...
A smaller, darker, and more foreboding ship emerged and slowly drifted toward them, as if either investigating them or challenging them.
They're not going to leave, are they?
The fear was apparent in Aussa's voice. Zee didn't answer, and kept watching as the ship slowly turned toward them. Out of the heart of the ship, a loud howl cut through the tension in the night air, shaking visibly shaking their own ship, as well as the other ship. The opposing vessel immediately turned and floated away, disappearing in the surrounding clouds once more, while their own ship regained life and started on it's course once more.


The dawning of the new day brought forth a new attitude in Zapook as she emerged from onto the deck of the ship, back to her normal self. She found Zee, still awake, and leaning on the railing while Aussa was sitting next to her, fast asleep.

Wow. I didn't mean to keep her up all night. Heh. She wasn't too much trouble was she Zee?

Zee was staring into the distance with a grin on her face.

Zee?

There was still no response.

Hello...Earth to cannibal me!!

Zee was completely lost in the new sight that has appeared with the morning sun in the distance...
A large creature which seemed like it was so close, yet so far from their ship.


...wait...Zee no!!
