Journal of Kusugari
I have a long story I plan on continuing every day. I hope you enjoy my writing, and I hope you can point out places that need improvement.
MEANWHILE...

The Kusugari stood outside a 'brotherhood' scouting base. It was obviously made hastily, as it didn't look like it sprung out of the ground like the dug-in permanent ones, but it looked like it had dropped from the sky. Rubble was all around it, the building itself seeming to b on a slight slant, as if it were on mud. It looked like it wasn't meant to stay for a while. Unfortunately, he was here to make sure the brotherhood never got any farther than this. That meant that everyone inside had to go.

His communicator crackled audibly, a female voice emitted from the speaker.
"Its Tamiko. You near the base? We can't have these guys getting any closer to the towns. Be careful, I've noticed a few Katakara and Jackals heading your way."
An aged male voice came out of the communicator suddenly.
"Jackals? What would those jokers be doing going there? Katakara may be going there for the same thing we are, but the Jackal clan are a bunch of desert scavengers!"

Tamiko's voice came out once more,
"Hey, I'm just as confused as you are Judd. Jian here is getting concerned Hero, he's not sure if he should let you in with his katana."
An aged voice came out again, but it had an asian accent.
"You better bring it back in one peace, young one! You may be of the Kusugari clan, but that katana is not of the same material as your old one!"
The Kusuagri was starting to get very annoyed. He finally spoke after so much silence.
"Quiet Jian, Judd, Tamiko. I'm about to start."

The Kusugari started running towards the base, quickly pressing up against the wall next to the doorway. The door opened with an ear piercing shriek as someone looked outside to spot the intruder, only to have the door suddenly slam closed again just as it stick it's head out. Quickly, the hero opened the door again and silently scampered inside, looking down each hall for any guards or security. He fired at any security camera before it could spot him. He had done some similar things before so he knew what the basic interior was, but this one seemed more important. He turned a corner to almost run into a guard, some sort of biomechanical creature, muscles and metal all intertwined. It looked twisted and corrupt, four arms and a head placed near the center of its body. The head was humanoid, but had sharp teeth and the skin color was a sickly blue, as if it were a suffocating human. It started to reach for a panic button on its leg when a bullet quickly sent it flying across the hall, a second one in its kneecap. The next instant, a katana was stuffed down it's almost nonexistent throat. The creature didn't even have time to realize it was dying as the sword was withdrawn and swiftly put back in its sheathe.

He immediately resumed his sneaking, keeping close to the walls. He knew the living quarters should be near, as even these things needed rest. If this one was just like the rest, which was likely, despite its slightly different shape and number of hallways, it should be right in the center. Just down the next corridor, simple enough.

He almost expertly dodged the deadly mines and clever traps he finally got used to in these places, making his trip without much difficulty. For some odd reason, they seemed to rely on their traps than men, or maybe he got here soon enough that it wasn't inhabited. He took a quick glance in one of the doors to see if he was correct. Sure enough, within the dark room there were pods with the guards being made within them, meaning that places for them to sleep and eat were nearby.
He spotted the door and made a mad-dash for it, trying to buy some time before more guards could reawaken. He suddenly found himself overlooking some sort of project, large versions of the guards and smaller, weaker creatures looking at monitors and typing away as machines and robots did both the grunt work and technical work. It looked like some sort of... well, soon to be portal. He knew he had to stop this operation, if they got this portal working it could mean that more of these things could get here more quickly.

The swordslinger leaped onto a narrow bridge, then another, and a third. He quickly hid when one beast heard something and turned, sniffing the air. Suddenly it grabbed the bridge and pulled it down, sending the Kusugari onto the floor in front of it. The beast tore the bridge in two easily, making the Kusugari want to flee, but he chose not to. He stood up and pulled out his revolver and katana, waited a moment, then dashed forward and slashed it's leg as the beast brought its fist down, the Kusugari suddenly spinning and hitting its other leg.He quickly jumped onto the back of the beast and fired his revolver at a smaller creature jumping from above, then stabbed hit sword into the beast. He jumped off and slashed another smaller creature, then fire his pistol at nother coming from his right. One was a second away from hitting him from above when a katana found its way into it's ribs and a bullet in it's face. He threw the beast off him, then jumped at a great speed and did a midair spinning slash at two large monsters, hitting their eyes, who slowly fell like logs. He fired twice and hit two more smaller monsters head-on, but more monsters suddenly appeared around him, from the banisters above to the ground meters away. He looked left, then right, the monsters closing in

. More and more slowly came out of the darkness, the Kusugari looking for a way out. His sword gloawed for a moment, then he drove it into the ground, sending a shockwave through teh ground and knocking those around him to the ground, where his pistol made short work of them. He ran towards a beast who was also running towards him, sidestepped, and fired at the monster's face, then tripped it into it's comrades following behind the Kusugari. He flipped and slashed at a large monster, then hit the ground and thrust his blade into its stomach, then ran and tore it open. The beats fell onto several of its comrades, the impact sending more into others. The Kusugari turned around to face the horde, firing at those who got near. But more and more closed in, a large beast almost on top of him. The Kusugari thought he heard a familiar sound of something powering up, but he dismissed it. After all, when did one of these creatures use a chaingun?

The beats suddenly struck with its mouth, but inches away its face was eaten away by hundreds of bullets firing into it. The Kusugari turned to see...to see a Katakara chaingunner?! He turned as cries from teh beasts rose out, and so did the hoots and laughs of the ex-cons of the Jackal clan, taking out hundreds of enemies with heavy sword, sledgehammers, twin revolvers, and even chainsaws, the disciplined katakara chopping off body parts with katanas, bullets from varying machine guns, the sounds of claws bouncing off the armor of katakara elites. Several large beasts fell in unison, and the Kusugari saw a katakara elite on his left, a jackal 'Big Bill' with his signature oversized sledgehammer to his right, not getting ready to fight him but on his side. Almost smiling, the Kusugari led them towards a much larger beast than the others, the elite and the Kusugari hitting its legs as the jackal hit its head with its sledgehammer when it fell, both the katana-wielders jumping up and driving their swords into the back of the beast, a large growl escaping it's throat. It started to get up and was about to reach back and scrap the odd pair off it's back to find its legs suddenly broken by a heavy weapon, then its head partially crushed by the same weapon, katakara and jackals suddenly jumping onto its back with the Kuaugari and elite and also driving their weapons into the back of the beast.

The life rushed out of the monster, and the next second the combined force that downed it jumped off it and stabbed their weapons into the other creatures who had moved to its aid, the creatures in the middle panicking and starting to run when the lines were getting cut down by the gunners from behind, escape impossible. Soon, the monsters' numbers were cut down to zero, the last beast decapitated by the Kusugarui.

He turned to the two men who aided him first, the jackal letting out a gruff 'whoop' that was followed by the rest of the jackals, all the katakara simply sheathing their weapons and rejoicing from the victory quietly. It seemed so impossible, but when faced with a common enemy, these groups, who all were so different and hated each other, moved to help even the Kusugari as a team. It was a mark of a new begginning. He looked at the large portal that looked close to completion, maybe a few tweaks here and there. Together, the katakara, the jackals, and who knows who else, were going to stand together.

Tamiko, Judd, and Jian were not going to believe this at all.
