~Minshuu vs The World~
So I'm just going to be putting random things in here about me...*smiles* Hope you like it.
I Will Always Remember
Sybaritic
I just wanna say, no, you're not assholes, and no one should call you that. Yes, the event is awesome, and we really appreciate the fact that you gave a zOMG event and put so much effort into it.

But, here are some things that are bothering me, and I hope this is constructive enough for you.

Considering the team has been downsized (apparently due to lack of user interest) and that zOMG has fallen to the wayside, is it really fair to ask people to "move on" just because they're playing zOMG for "the wrong reasons" ?

Yes, I play zOMG for gold. It's not the only reason I play it. It's not even the main reason I play it - and I do run into a lot of people who only play it for gold. But it is a nice part of it, and it does make me enjoy it more. And I appreciate that people still come and play zOMG - for whatever their reasons are. It makes it possible for all of us to enjoy it, it gives us people to form crews with, and to exchange tips with, and to make friends with. zOMG would be a very lonely place if it was only the die hard zOMG fans playing.

So, really, take all the userbase you can. I don't think you as developers have a right to be picky.

As for the event - it's a fun event. I like the user participation, and the fact that we have to work together - all hundreds of us - to beat Jack. And it achieved it's goal - it raised awareness about zOMG. That's freaking awesome.

But lowering the gold amount to deter people from playing? Instead of dealing with the real problem, which is a lack of servers and bandwidth? It seems like a cop-out. It seems like, to me, that Gaia just doesn't want to spend the money on extra bandwidth for the weekend, and is taking the easy (and cheap) way out. Lag has been an issue on zOMG for a long time before this event, and the user influx has only made that issue escalate.

It's also an oversight - because people will keep playing for any amount of gold, and will keep server jumping, and will keep lagging the servers. Which already lag pretty majorly on their own.

If you want to get more users playing zOMG, show them the good sides of it. Show them that it's a community. Show them the cool monsters zOMG has. And yeah - show them that it makes them gold. That's what keeps them coming back. And more importantly, show them that Gaia cares about zOMG.

Show us, the "die hard" zOMG fans, that Gaia cares about zOMG. Because it sure doesn't seem that way.
