But the tune speeds up a little,
the key goes into major,
still I ponder with a glance
if the climax is now or later.
And then it stops.
The song has had it's floor.
I give it a standing ovation
hoping there's more.
But no, it's truly over
and the music still sorrowfully looms,
not a dry eye in the crowd
for a song that's done too soon.
