“Hitomi, your a** better be up or I’m ******** sending your father up here!” And with that she was gone, stomping loudly down the stairs. Hitomi, who was just sitting at her computer desk reading about Huntington’s disease out of boredom, rolled her eyes angrily and got up from her chair to stretch. She and her mother never got along too well since Hitomi turned 15, and she was 17 now- what fun it was for the two guys living in the house to hear a mother and daughter constantly argue, even over stupid things like the smell of shampoo. Glancing at her alarm clock, she saw that it was a quarter to 1 and that her mother couldn’t yell at her for getting up earlier than she usually did on a Saturday. But she decided not to mention it and walked out of her room, trying not to slam the door as she did so- she knew what her mother would say. Bounding down the stairs two steps at a time, she immediately made a beeline for the fridge and took out a can of soda, sitting on top of the counter before opening it, and started swinging her feet. Taking advantage of the peace and quiet, Hitomi looked out the window and watched as birds came and went, intrigued- like always- by their wings. But the sanctity was ruined when she heard her mother and father walking in, arguing about the bills like they usually always did every afternoon. “If you’re gonna go out with your friends, why don’t you wear a dress or maybe a cute skirt for a change?” her mother asked as she looked her daughter up and down. Hitomi’s eyebrows furrowed in slight frustration; her mother always criticized the way she dressed. Looking down at herself, she saw nothing wrong with what she was wearing- chocolate brown skinny jeans, neon orange low tops, a rainbow stud belt, a black and red striped thermal and a red bow in her hair. Her shoes and belt were bright enough, so what the hell? Of course, Hitomi didn’t dare voice her question aloud, since she didn’t want to hear her mother’s mouth until she left. “Why should I change a thing about me when everyone knows it’s the way I am? They would be pretty damn shocked if I went out one day wearing preppy clothing, you know.” And as she said that, Hitomi threw the can to the floor and brutally stepped on it, crushing it like a bug before she bent over and picked it up. “She has a point, Haruka. We were her age once and we didn’t want to change either, so when she decides to change she would.” Hitomi smiled warmly at her father. At least he understood, even though he did get a little protective sometimes and managed to scare off half her guy friends when they visited. “But Hayate, I don’t want her making the same mistake I made. I said I didn’t want to change and my first boyfriend used me for sex because he wanted me to try something new. What if the time comes for her and she feels that kind of pressure? She won’t be able to handle it.” Hitomi kept her head down and watched as she swung her own feet. She hated the fact that her mother didn’t believe her when she said that she wouldn’t even think about having sex until after she was 18. Every year since she turned 13 she’s been saying that, and she’s kept her word, but her mother still thought she was lying and would make that mistake. Just as she was about to retort, however… Koe wo karashite sakenda Hankyou zankyou Munashiku hibiku… They all heard an upbeat Japanese song playing from the kitchen table. Hazusareta kusari no Sono saki wa nani hitotsu Nokotteyashinai kedo... Hitomi nearly killed herself running to the table as she finally realized that her phone was ringing. Futari wo kasaneteta guuzen Anten tan- “Hello?” she said slightly out of breath as she picked it up, trying to calm her breathing if just a little bit. “It sounds like you ran a mile. Anyway, you still coming with me to the mall? My mom said she’d have to pick you up a few minutes early.” Hitomi recognized her best friend’s voice anywhere. She smiled. “I did run, but not a mile.” She let out a small breathy laugh. “But yeah, I’m still up for it. What time are you coming by?” As she asked this, Hitomi glanced at the time on her phone. It said 12:56, so they would probably get to the mall by 1:30 or so. And just as she expected, Hikari spoke up after talking it over with her mom. “We’ll be there around 1:15, so get whatever you need and be ready.” Hitomi rolled her eyes, knowing full well that Hikari couldn’t see. “Yes, mother.” They both laughed a little before hanging up simultaneously, Hitomi running to her parents’ bathroom to check her hair. After she pushed her bangs out of her eyes a little bit and moved a strand of dark hair behind her ear, she was satisfied enough and ran back to her room to look for her iPod, which was almost impossible due to the clutter she had around her desk. After searching through all the notebooks she had on top of the desk, she remembered that she had put it in the first drawer, where she also had her camera and various little toys. Spotting it easily, she decided to clear her desk of all but her laptop and then ran back downstairs, again making a beeline towards the fridge.

I wanted to post this out of boredom.
I know I'm not a good writer, but I'm at least brave enough to do this.
Have fun with it, but no bashing or I will freaking murder you.

Nice relationship they all have in this family... *cough*
But it's okay though. It sounds like something I would read.

I just thought that if the character has some sort of problem (or problems) throughout the story then she'll be a little more believable for the readers. And really?! O.O Thank you! =D
