Once upon a time,
there was a princess who lived grounded in the tower of a castle,
her father, the king, kept her inside the tower so no man could fall in love with her
he wanted her to marry a man with power, not the poor men which lived in the kingdom, due to this the girl had no contact with any men, not even the outside world, the only thing she could do all the day, was to talk with the guard dessigned to protect the entrance to her chamber.

They spent hours talking every day, the princess enjoyed the stories the guard told her about the world outside, things like the life he had, the people he met, how he become a guard, the uncountless fights he had in order to protect the kingdom, the princess was amazed with every word the guard told her, but that wasn't enough for her, she wanted to experiment the outside world, so she asked the guard if there could be a way for her to be outside for at least one minute or two, but the guard told her that would be impossible as the king didn't want her to be outside with all the danger, the princess insisted and told him:

"but you would be there to protect me don't you? I would be safe as long as you are with me.".

After those words the guard stayed in silence, and with a smile on his face he told her:

"I have to check something, so I'll be back in a few minutes"

So he left the tower and visited the king, the king asked him what he was doing there if he wasn't supposed to leave the princess chamber, the guard just told the king:

" I'm so sorry your majesty, but there is a big favor I would like to ask you, your daughter has a wish, and as her father you should make her happy and allow her to walk outside, allow her to experiment the life like everyone does, you don't have to worry, I would be there to protect her any second, but please, let me take her outside for a few minutes. "

After that, the king became angry and yelled at the guard:

" How insolent, you should know your place, you are just a guard who just have to fulfil his duties, you shouldn't be here lecturing me about how I have to treat my own daughter, know your place and leave at once before I cut your head with my own hands. "

The guard could not do something about that, so he just left and walked back to his position. As he walked away, he started to think if there could be another way to make the princess happy, but there was no way to take her outside without the permission of the king, the castle was secured all the time by other guards, and if he and the princess weren't on their positions, then for sure someone else would notice that. But he had an idea, so before returning to the princess chamber, he went to his room, took all the money he had, and walked to the town, there he met an old friend, and asked him and his wife if they could replace him and the princess for one night. His friends declined without thinking about it, so he showed them all the money he had, and asked one more time, if they could that, with doubt on their faces, they accepted, the guard gave them the money and ran back to his position. As he arrived, the princess worried about his long absence asked what he was doing, but the guard just said. " I'm preparing a surprise for you my princess".

The days passed away normally, and the date of the surprise arrived, he put some sleep potion in the soldiers food, so everyone would be asleep while he and the princess escaped, though the potion just lasts 5 minutes, so he had to leave with the princess and his friends would be on their positions to make everyone thinks the princess and the guard were still there. As every soldier fell asleep, he covered the princess eyes with a bandage, took her on his back and left the castle, the princess was surprised about this suddenly act, but she trusted the warrior so she just let him keep doing what he had in mind.

After one hour of walking, the guard and the princess arrived at a beautiful field of flowers, the guard took off the bandage he put on the eyes of the princess and with a smile on his face he said:

" Surprise ".

The princess was astonished about the beautiful view, a field full of flowers, a night firmament filled with stars, and a silver moon that shines far away. The princess started crying with joy, with a smile on her face, she took the guard's hand, told him thanks, and started running around the place with him until they fell asleep.

A few hours passed, and the guard woke up, noticed how late it was, and as he saw the princess was still sleeping, he took her again on his back, and returned to the castle, he slunk through the castle, until he arrived the princess chamber, he said thanks to his friends, put the princess on her bed, and as she said I love you in her dreams, with a smile on his face, the guard kissed the princess cheek, and went back to guard the entrance.

Some minutes passed and the commander of the castle walked towards him, the commander stared at the guard and with anger on his face, he told him:

" I saw you a moment ago coming back to the castle with the princess on your back, can you explain why you and the princess were outside the castle? ".

But the guard didn't mentioned a single word about what he did, the commander just laughed, and as he was leaving he said:

" This isn't the end of our conversation ".

After that the guard felt something bad could happen at any moment, but he felt relieved as he made the princess wish true. The days passed normally, until a war suddenly started with the neighbor kingdom and their kingdom, all the men above the fifteen years old were listed to participate in the war, except the men who were meant to protect the castle. As this happened, the commander of the guards visited the king, and told him what happened some days ago, the king furious told the commander to bring the princess guard.

When the guard came to the king's presence, the king started yelling at him about what he did, and said he was going to execute him, but the commander gave the king and idea, to send the guard to the war in one of the front lines, so he could die easier and without them stain their name for killing him, the king agreed, and the guard was listed to participate in the war.

He had no permission to go back to the tower and talk with the princess, so he couldn't go back to tell the princess about his leaving, he just took his stuff, and left the castle.

With the guard away, the commander decided to take his spot guarding the princess chamber, when the princess noticed her guard wasn't there, she asked the commander what happened, why her guard wasnt' there with her as always?. The commander just smiled and said:

" Princess, that guard you are looking for, is a criminal, he committed a horrible crime we can't allow to leave without punishment, so we sent him to the war ".

After hear that, the princess started to feel depressed, the guard that was with her all this time, the guard that made her wish true, the guard she trusted, the guard she loved, was a horrible criminal, she didn't know what he did, she just knew, he was a horrible criminal, but the worse was, that she didn't know, the only crime that man made was, making her wish true.

At the war zone, the guard was leading the principal platoon, most of his soldiers died, the enemy had them all surrounded, but he couldn't surrender, because he wanted to go back to the kingdom, because he wanted to see the princess one more time, because he had to protect her again. So kept fighting and surviving, until a few weeks later, the war finally finished, an embassador of both countries made an agreement between the kings so the war between the kingdoms could end.

The guard with a grin on his face, came back to the castle, and run to the princess chamber, and told her he was finally back, but she didn't look at him, and asked the commander to take him away from her. The guard was impressed to hear that and asked why?, but the princess didn't say a word, and asked the commander to take him away one more time.

The commander asked the guard to go with him to see the king, as soon as they arrived with the king, the king started at him with hate and said:

" I'm impressed that you survived, you were meant to die there, it could have been better if you just died there, but no, you survived and came back, your crime wasn't spared just because you participated in the war and survived, you are exiled from this kingdom, I am so considerated that I am not going to kill you, so be greatful and leave at once ".

The guard had no options left, his destiny was to leave that place forever. He took his stuff, and left the kingdom and started living in a forest near the zone, as he walked, he felt like it could have been better to die at the war, as the king said, she suddenly felt without energies and fell on the floor, he stared at the sky, and saw some petals been taken by the air, the silver moon, and the firmament filled with stars, like that day he made the princess wish true, and he just thought:

" If a wish were a star, and and if the space were my heart, then my heart it's filled with wishes, but my biggest wish it's you, and the biggest star it's the sun, I just have to wait, until the night becomes the day, and that way, the other wishes would be gone, and the only thing there would be you."

The time passed since the guard left the kingdom, and the king was about to die, so he wanted her daughter to marry so a new king could take position of the kingdom, so the king thought about his most loyal servant as the future king, the commander, the princess didn't declined the offer, she just didn't care, the man she loved was a criminal and wasn't there anymore, so it wouldn't matter who would be her husband.

As this was settled, the princess finally had permission to walk around the castle as she wanted, she went to take a look at every room, and as she got lost, she found the library where the documents about the citizens where held. She took a seat and as she remembered her guard, she started looking the information about him. She finally found what she was looking for, the file about that guard, she started reading, but she found nothing horrible to be considered as a crime, the only thing she found was that he was sent to the war as a punishment, and as he survived, the king suggested by the commander, expelled him from the kingdom, she didn't found the crime, so she went to see his father to ask him directly what happened. The king was on his last breath and as he saw his daughter coming to his chamber, he started talking to her, but the princess didn't wanted to hear the stuff he was saying, until the king said.

" Daughter, my precious daughter, tomorrow you would be the queen, I'm not going to live for tomorrow, so I want to tell you this before I die, I knew you loved the guard that was all the time with you, and I knew he loved you, but the love between a guard and someone loyal like you, isn't something I allowed, you probably thought all this time, what was the crime he committed, his crime was, to make you happy, his crime was to make your wish true, once he came to me, and asked me to let you see the outside world, and told me not to worry as he would be there to protect you, but I declined, then a few days later, he took you outside even though rejected the idea, so when I knew what he did, I decided to get rid of him with the war, then when he came back alive, I exiled him. You don't have to marry the commander, but make sure he doesn't take control as soon as I die. "

After that, the king closed his eyes little by little, and before the princess could say a word, the king passed away, she stayed there by his side for a moment, and left the chamber, but as soon as she went outside, the commander was already taking position of the throne, and proclaimed himself as the new king, the princess tried to stop this, but no guards or soldiers obeyed her orders, everyone already recognized the commander as the new king.

The princess with anger went to the kitchen, took a knife and walked towards the commander and tried to kill him, but the guards stopped her, and as soon as the commander saw this, he sentenced her to be executed.

The next days the princess spend her time again grounded, this time in a dark a cell, waiting for her last day of life, she wanted to go back to the days where she spent her time talking with her guard. But that wasn't possible.

As the night started, the soldiers made all the preparations for the execution, they took the princess and walked her to the execution platform, there the commander was reading a scroll, he mentioned the changes he would make in the kingdom as the new king, and also mentioned why the princess was going to be executed. He kept talking as the night kept his course, and when finally finished the lecture, he was about to tell the executioner to execute the princess when the sun suddenly covered the moon, and an eclipse were held, everyone was distracted by this event, the princess was crying, and she just closed her eyes while waiting for her death, but she opened her eyes one last time, and saw her guard in front of her eyes.

She was astonished, the guard cut her ropes, took her away from there, and the commander hear them, as soon as he saw them, he ordered the soldiers to kill them, the soldiers pursued them, but some of the citizens, tried to stop them, as this happened, the guard and the princess, managed to escape from the kingdom.

The hours passed, and they arrived at the spot where the guard took the princess to make her wish true, the princess apologized for what she did, and the guard just told her:

" There is not a reason to apologize, I just had to wait, until the sun comes out, so that way just the most important wish would be there."

The princess felt so happy and said:

" Once my wish was to see the outside world, you made that wish true, then my world became a nightmare, I didn't have wishes anymore, yesterday my wish was to see you again, and as the sun arised in the middle of the night, you came to my life like a miracle, once again ".

After this, they kissed each other, and left far away, so they could never look back to the kingdom that kept the away from each other. Instead of that, they kept walking the path of their lives, but not alone, life never ends, life just restarts and leaves a new route of happiness, there would be dark moments, but the sun would arises, sometimes we have so many wishes that we become sad when not everyone of it becomes true, but the biggest one becomes true. and for sure, tomorrow would be brighter.
