Brainstorm: Hear something on the news about mysterious attacks, go to check it out, get attacked, and summon the swords for the first time Kiko comments on Solar being gone often, and a few days later when Sno returns from work she finds Keiko at the apartment
Standing back from the mirror over the sink in her bathroom, Sno looked at her appearance once more. Her nerves were in a bundle that day, and whenever she got like that, even the smallest flaw in her looks caused everything to worry her tenfold. The young woman had just recently turned 18, and even at the young age, she was being asked to take the position of a substitute teacher at the highschool she had attended when younger. Of course, most people her age were still in fact attending highschool, but Sno Mizuno was a special case. She was already finished with that chapter of her life, already being enrolled in college for a doctorate degree in medicine and related studies. Technically, she wasn't suppose to be eligible to perform the duties of a substitute teacher, but the school knew of her abilities and brains right along with all of the rest of the eligible substitutes suffering from a nasty bout of the flu that had been going around.
Sno had actually been surprised she hadn't caught what was seemingly plaguing half of the town, but luck had always been on her side in regards to her health. She did unnaturally well in the winter, and while everyone was coughing and hacking, wearing massive padded coats around, Sno could often be found with just a spring jacket on, if not just wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Why the cold did not effect her like everyone else was a mystery to the woman, but some people were special, and she just figured she had to be one them.
Today she wore black heels, a grey pencil skirt with a black belt, and a black frilled blouse. Her typical blue rimmed glasses sat perched on the top of her head, masquerading as regular reading glasses to everyone around her. In reality, they were a special piece of technology Sno had been tinkering with. They were able to scan the environment around her, to pull in temperatures, take pictures of the surroundings, even dissect the composition of the air and its elements. While they weren't perfect by any means, as she was still working on them, she felt like something was missing, as though there was an element to them that she had yet to discover she needed to add.
Smoothing down the front of her skirt once more, Sno quickly pulled the glasses down from the top of her head and over her eyes, exiting the bathroom and heading into the living room. Ever since she had graduated from highschool at the age of 14, she had made the decision to move out and live on her own at the age of 16, getting her own place, a job, and starting college within a few months of being on her own. Sno was a multitasker if anything, and even with everything going on in her life, she always had a way to work around stress that would normally kill the average person. Planning was her specialty, and she always had her life planned out, short term and long term.
At the time, she lived in a cozy two bedroom apartment, something she was surprisingly able to afford with careful budget planning. Her job was a hostess at a local restaurant after all, and she often was given leftovers to take home. Food was never an issue for the woman, and in result that money could go toward rent and utilities. Gathering up her items for the day, she placed them gently in the satchel, opting to put on only a light spring jacket once more. Snow was predicted for that day, and the temperatures were low to match the predicted accumulation, but as usual it didn't phase her in the least.
The next 10 minutes were spent leaving the apartment and making it to the bus stop just in time, catching it over to the HS. The class she was being asked to sub for was a math section, and it started right after lunch time. After checking in at the office of the HS and obtaining a badge, Sno quickly made her way over to the classroom, stepping in just as the bell range to signal the end of the passing time to get to class.
The noise level in the classroom quickly died, which Sno assumed was out of curiosity as to who she was and where their normal teacher was. Setting her bag down on the desk available to her, she turned and gave her best smile to class, or in other terms, her normal smile.
"Hello class, my name is Sno Mizuno, and I will be your substitute teacher for today. It seems that Ms. Evans has come down with the flu that has been prominent in the faculty lately."
The thought of a substitute teacher obviously excited a few students, and Sno couldn't help the small smirk that came across her face. Most of the time substitute teachers didn't do much for the day and let a lot slide. Sno, on the other hand, was pretty sure she knew the material to be taught today better than the original teacher did, and wasn't about to let the class period go to waste.
"Attendance time," Sno said, pulling out a seating chart that had been left on the desk for her. As she read through the names, looking up as each child responded in order to match a face with the name, she couldn't help but notice one girl in particular.
"Kiko Hino."
Looking up, Sno's eyes fell on the girl raising her hand, and instead of looking right back down to the sheet of paper and calling off the next name, her gaze lingered. Her hair was a vibrant red, something most people would probably have to dye their hair in order to achieve, and it was immensely long. Not that Sno could be the one talking, with her dark blue hair that no one would ever believe her story of it being her natural hair color. Kiko had amber eyes and as their gazes met, Sno couldn't help but feel a tingle that ran down her spine. The feeling growing in the pit of her stomach was something she couldn't quite identify, but she only figured it wasn't of dread. Curiosity perhaps?
Realizing she had completely stopped for far too long, Sno pulled her eyes back down to the paper in front of her, quickly finishing off the list before pulling a different sheet out with the class work plan on it.
"Open your books to page 187 please. We'll be working together on the problems listed on that page."
With a few moans and groans along with the shuffling of getting books out of their backpacks, the students eventually all opened to the right page, and Sno dived right in. As she read each question aloud, she would pick on a student to give an answer, then would further their answer with her own explanation. By question 7, she could easily tell her explanations were more than the other teacher gave simply by the glazed over looks she was already receiving from the students in front of her.
"Ms. Hino, please answer question 7."
Sno watched Kiko intently as she suddenly jerked her head up, which had been resting in her palm, and blinked away what seemed like the sleep she had been catching up on. Looking quickly to the book on her desk, her eyes scanned until she found the answer, and after about a minute of looking at it, flicked back up to meet Sno's gaze.
"Your face."
Sno almost choked on her own spit as the class burst into snickers. Catching herself, Sno quickly quieted down the class and spoke again.
"Excuse me?"
Kiko just smirked.
"I believe your face is the tangent."
Sno just returned the others smirk with a dull look of displeasure, mostly to hide the amusement she felt bubbling up inside of her. Obviously the other girl had a brusque sense of humor and didn't care when she showed it.
"Please pay attention next time so that you may know the answer. Mr. Johnson, the answer please?"
The rest of class went fairly uneventful, and as the bell rang, Sno watched from her desk as the students quickly packed their bags and scurried from the classroom. Looking back up when the commotion had died, she was surprised to see Kiko still sitting there, simply staring at her with her head cocked slightly to the side.
"Can I help you Ms. Hino? You're going to be late to your next class."
Kiko just shrugged, standing up from her chair finally and throwing her backpack over her shoulder.
"Wouldn't be the first time."
Sno just raised as eyebrow as the other walked up to her desk and stood next to it.
"So, how old are you?"
Now a look of 'Really?' matched her eyebrow up as Sno kept her eyes on the other for a few moments before answering. Obviously Kiko wasn't hesitant about asking a normally rude question.
"I am eighteen years old, wh-"
"You're shitting me. You can't be a teacher already, you should be sitting in the desks still!"
Sno just sighed, pulling her glasses up to sit on top of her head once more, her hands resting gently over each other on the desk in front of her.
"Long story short. I graduated highschool when I was fourteen, and I am now in my fourth year of college working toward my Doctorate in medicine and related fields."
Kiko's eyes only returned a blank look, and Sno couldn't help but chuckle a little.
"Long story even shorter, I'm very smart."
The other seemed to contemplate this for a second before shrugging her shoulders, acting like it was no big deal that someone her own age was teaching the class she had just been in.
"Well, wanna hang out sometime? You could help me with my homework."
Sno just gave the red head a skeptical look. She was pretty sure 'help' meant 'do' in that sentence, but it was hard for the woman to ignore that feeling that was returning from when she first had laid eyes on the other. She felt compelled to be near this girl, and this was apparently the way that this was going to happen.
"Sure."

After that, Sno ended up having to write a pass for Kiko to make it to her next class on time, something she insisted she didn't need. She had simply rolled her eyes at the red haired woman and forced the slip into her hand.
The rest of the day went uneventfully, Sno retreating to the teacher's lounge and helping a few teachers correct essays that they had piling up. As school let out though, she decided heading home was best, considering the school was paying her for every hour she spent on the grounds. Sure, they could have just paid her for the one class hour, but they knew the woman and figured she'd end up helping around when done with her original task.
While the walk home was a slightly long one, a trip she normally took by bus, the falling snow was just too tempting for the woman and something inside of her insisted she revel in the cold flakes. About halfway home, as she walked by a darkened alley, she suddenly heard a scurrying sound, the hairs on the back of her neck rising. Something was approaching her, and out of instinct she reached into her satchel, hand wrapping around the pepperspray that always carried on her person. What walked from the shadows though had a smile crossing her face and her hand leaving her bag.
"Well hey there pretty lady," Sno cooed, crouching down and holding her hand out toward the small white feline that had emerged from the shadows. The cat seemed friendly enough, and almost instantly made its way over to Sno's outstretched hand, rubbing against it with a loud purring noise emitting from her body.
What shocked Sno though was the small tear drop shape on the cats forehead. Obviously cats didn't normally have something like that on them, but her trance was broken as the cat gracefully leaped onto her shoulder and nuzzed against Sno's cheek. Instead of being shocked, the woman couldn't help but smile, straightening herself back up and bringing a hand up to stroke the feline's fur.
"Well, aren't you the friendly one? I can't just leave you out here in the cold...so how about you come home with me for now?"
Almost like the cat could understand her, she mewed softly, gently licking Sno's cheek in approval. A small giggle escaped from the woman in result as she gently stroked the small cat's head. As her skin touched the drop emblem though, she felt an odd tingle run up her arm, almost a cold sensation, something that not even the snow falling her could cause. Brushing it off, she turned where she was standing, her feet moving forward to continue the path she had originally been on before encountering the cat.

The next few days played out normally with class and work taking up the blue haired woman's life. While she had in fact brought the small white feline home, the plan had been to call the local shelter and have her put up for adoption while she stayed at her apartment. After all, pets were an extra charge on top of the regular rent in her building, and if the landlord found the cat there without her paying, Sno didn't even want to think about what would happen. Every time the thought came to pick up the phone and call though, an odd feeling would run through her, one she couldn't describe completely but always had her setting the phone back down.
The one call she did end up making though was to contact Kiko, to figure out where they could perform this 'study group'. Surprisingly, the other worked at the local library, the words almost causing her to choke when the red head had spoken them over the phone. Just by their small encounter in the classroom, it was obvious Kiko was not the nerdy book type that Sno was, so when she stated she worked at the library and might as well meet there to study, Sno had to keep herself from asking if Kiko was joking.
Once again, the day was a cold one, though the wind was not present and the sky was simply cloudy without any falling snow. In result, Sno simply threw on a cardigan over a tank top, putting on her favorite pair of jeans before slipping her flats on. Immediately the cat, to which the woman had found she had a hard time giving a name to yet, padded up, curling around Sno's leg.
"I'll be back in a few hours, alright beautiful?" she cooed toward the cat, bending down and petting her once more as she mewed softly and purred loudly.
The interaction brought a gentle smile to Sno's face as she stood up, grabbing her purse before heading out the door and down the stairs of her building. The library was a smidge closer than the HS, and while buses were available, Sno felt compelled to walk once more. Lately, she had been having such an odd bout of emotions compelling her in different ways, but not until she was a few blocks away from her apartment did one of these feelings start to turn for the worse.
Just as she turned to take a short cut down a back alley, one that was normally well lit and well trafficked, the sense of dread grew just as the lights all suddenly flickered out at once. Evening was setting in, and it was obviously odd that all the lights would turn off since they had just turned on for the night. The walls and garbage cans around her will still visible, but more shadows were produced from the lack of lights. Then, to her right, a scurrying noise, but not small like the cat had produced, more so the sound of feet. Before her hand could even reach into her bag, the shape of a human figure lurched out of seemingly no where and had her by the throat, slamming her up against the brick wall as her head hit it with a sickening thud.
Stars danced across her vision as her hands reached up to try and grasp at her attackers wrists, but she could barely breath and- Just then a loud yelling noise interrupted her panicked thoughts, and the hands that had been clasped around her throat disappeared as she was dropped to the ground. Immediately Sno began to cough, her own hand coming to her throat in a gentle massage before she looked up at the person now standing in front of her.
A small gasp came from her as she looked at a young girl, her outfit obviously not something normal people wore everyday, but by her stance, she had been the one to scare the person off of her and was now protecting her.
"Pick on someone who isn't defenseless a*****e," the girl said, then suddenly lunged forward toward the enemy Sno could only assume was still there. She wanted to say something, to have the other call the cops instead of engaging herself or anything, but as she watched, Sno realized this mysterious savior knew what she was doing. What really caused her eyes to open in shock was when she managed to summon a fireball in her hand and chuck it at the enemy after he had sneaked a shot in on her, causing a cut on her cheek.
Before she completely could get her wits about her, she was suddenly being prodded in her side, and looking over, the white cat was standing there with a small compact looking object on her mouth. Instinctively, Sno reached out and grabbed the small thing, turning it over in her palm. It was a beautiful blue color, just like her own hair, and on top in a lighter blue was etched a symbol...a symbol Sno could have sworn she recognized.
"Concentrate, use it to find the powers that lie dormant inside of you Sno!"
The woman's attention snapped back to the cat, her eyes widening at the realization that the cat had in fact talked to her. What?
"I'll explain later, but you need to transform, you need to help her!"
Sno blinked a few times before nodding slightly, pushing herself up from the spot she had been dropped on the alley floor. Looking over at her mysterious savior, she realized she was in fact having a rough time keeping the enemy at bay and had a few more cuts on herself than the last time Sno had looked. Grasping the small object on her hand, she brought it to her chest and closed her eyes, concentrating, thinking about this supposed hidden power that was suppose to be inside her. Then, in a rush of blue light, snow, and ice that enveloped her form, Sno suddenly stood there, her outfit that similar to the other woman's.
It was just then that the enemy got another hit in on the other woman, and Sno jumped into the fray. She personally hadn't taken much in the ways of physical fighting arts, but something inside her, most likely related to the power that was coursing through her now, was guiding her in what to do.
"Icicle GRAVE!"
In the air above the enemy, two large icicles formed from seemingly thin air, then came crashing down on him quickly. They shattered on contact, but the distraction proved to be worthwhile as the other girl managed to pull herself together once more, lunging forward to throw one good punch into the others gut. The enemy sputtered and gasped, jumping back before the other could land in a kick to the family jewels.
"You Sailor brats will regret the day you messed with us!"
And with that last message, the man disappeared. Just as quickly, the other woman turned toward Sno, a cocky smile on her face.
"Well done, for your first time at least. I had a feeling when I met you that you'd be important Sno."
Sno was still slightly shocked at everything that had just happened when she looked up to meet the others gaze as she spoke her name.
"When did we meet? How do you know my name?"
The other brought her hand up over the brooch in the center of the bow on her chest, a wall of fire enveloping her. As it died down, a small gasp emitted from Sno's throat.
"Kiko? You are..."
Kiko just smirked and nodded her head once.
"Damn straight, Sailor Flame at your service."
Sno just found herself smiling a little as she too brought her hand up, the flurry of cold and snow around her bringing back her regular outfit and leaving only the compact to reside in her hand. Staring at the small object for a moment, she almost jumped when the cat had walked in between them and started talking once more.
"Lets get back to your place Sno, we have a lot to discuss, and Kiko is bleeding everywhere."
Kiko just huffed, shrugging her shoulders just like she had done days before in the classroom.
"Wouldn't be the first time."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Hold still!"
Sno grabbed Kiko's wrist firmly, blotting a cotton ball against the cut on her arm in an attempt to clean away the blood. The other kept flinching and trying to pull away though, and it was making the whole process that much more difficult.
"Well ********, it stings!" Kiko replied, flinching for the hundredth time as Sno tried again. With a sigh, the woman's hands fell to her sides.
"It's either it hurts now, or it hurts a hell of a lot more later when it gets infected."
Kiko just snorted.
"I have never gotten an infection before. Part of my powers is a high natural body temp it seems, scares off all the little bacteria." She went to emphasize the 'scaring' part by having her fingers scurry through the air.
Before she could move away from her, Sno firmly pinned her wrist down on the table they were sitting at.
"None the less, you're not bleeding all over my apartment. Sit. Still."
Kiko just sighed before taking a sudden breath in as Sno's cotton ball attacked her once more.
"You're just having fun now."
Sno dawned the most innocent face she could, shrugging her shoulders and continuing her work as though she hadn't really heard Kiko. A moment later, the small white cat joined them on the table. Sno quickly looked up as the feline spoke again.
"How can you talk?" Sno blurted out the question before the cat even opened her mouth, and she was pretty sure the feline was grinning as well as a cat could.
"My name is Snowflake, and I was sent to earth with you when you were four years of age by your mother. I was charged with making sure you knew of your powers when the time was necessary, and to know of your past. Your mother, Amy Mizuno, or Sailor Mercury along with Kiko's mother Rei Hino, or Sailor Mars, knew there was going to be warfare on Mars. Both of you are predicted to have strength unknown to anyone before you, even your parents, and evil forces had gotten wind of that. In result, you were sent away from the place they believed you to be, to keep you safe."
Sno's handiwork on Kiko had stopped by then, her hands moving to simply rest in her lap as she listened. As soon as Snowflake spoke that name, the name of her biological mother, it was like a dam in her mind opened up. Memories she assumed she had lost due to amnesia suddenly came forth. The beautiful blue of the Mercury castle, the gardens surrounding, dressing up in fancy blue gowns with her mother. Even smaller memories came to her, like playing in the gardens...one of her best friends had been a young man, only a few years older than her...one thing she remembered was a mop of black hair, and how he rarely smiled unless she did something completely goofy. He was also protective of her, so much that-
A sudden whistling brought Sno back from her flood of memories, bringing her eyes up to see Kiko waving her hand in front of her face.
"Hello, earth to Sno!" she chimed, and Sno just rolled her eyes, batting the others hand away.
"I'm sorry, but it's not every day memories from four years of your life you had thought had gone missing suddenly come back to you. My birthplace...my mother..." she said, her last few statements coming out as whispers.
"Well, at least you remember your mother."
Sno's gaze came back to Kiko, whose face seemed unchanged other than a subtle glint in her eye, and she gave her a questioning look just as Snowflake chimed in.
"Kiko was sent to earth only a week after she was born. You were sent at the age of four, and while it was meant for you to join Kiko at the same time, the time travel you went through went haywire and you ended up joining Kiko when she was already four, as to why you are both the same age now."
Sno nodded, her head surprisingly still able to wrap around all the information she was getting. She had never had so much...odd, information given to her at once, but really, it wasn't affecting her like she thought it should have. She wasn't shocked or throwing a fit, but more so felt like a piece of the puzzle of her life had been finally put into place.
Apparently Sno had gone quiet again as she jumped a little when Kiko spoke again.
"So..." she started, standing up and walking over to the first room in the hallway of the apartment. "Whatchya usin' this room for?"
Sno gave the red head a confused look before answering.
"Not much, mostly storage and the such."
Kiko disappeared into the room for a moment or two before returning, a smirk across her face as she leaned against the doorframe.
"It'll do."
"What will do?"
"The room, my bed will fit nicely in the left corner by the window."
Sno just rolled her eyes and laughed at the other.

Three days later, Sno was helping haul one more box up from the vehicle on the street, managing the door handle with her hand before stepping in quickly as it closed. Walking over, she set the box down on top of another next to the doorway of Kiko's new room. Brushing her hands together, she watched as Kiko threw the blanket down on her recently set up bed, realizing most of the colors that were in her room were shades of red. Not really surprising, but it made the ice senshi wonder if she had always liked those colors. After all, Sno's entire apartment had been primarily decorated with shades of blue even without her current knowledge of her past and powers.
Looking at the clock the other had set up, a gasp emitted from Sno's throat.
"I'm going to be late!"
Kiko looked up from the box she had just opened, giving Sno an inquisitive look.
"Late for what?"
A blush rose high in Sno's cheeks and she turned her face toward the wall for a moment. While she could plan almost anything in her life, dates were one thing she could never predict for, and in result they made her nervous.
"Uh...a...date."
Immediately Kiko snickered, which quickly turned into her hands flailing when she noticed the hurt look that had adorned Sno's face.
"No no no, not you Sno. If I was a lesbian, I would be all over you in a heart beat. You're beautiful. Boys are useless though, the entire lot of them."
Sno couldn't help but sigh. It didn't surprise her in the least that her new roommate was anti-male, considering by every other thing she had observed, Kiko was definitely not a girly girl type. Plus, with the lifestyle that Kiko had known of for a few months and that Sno just discovered, the idea of having a boyfriend seemed illogical. Randomly running out on dates to save the town and having to come up with lame excuses was not the way to build a relationship.
The thought of being alone scared the senshi more though.
"Well, useless or not, this one is pretty cute. I'll be back later, alright?"
Kiko just nodded to her with a thumbs up.
"Good luck."

Sno sat outside the door of her, or rather, their apartment, standing still as a stone. She had scared off another one. When he had asked about how school was going, about what her college plans were, Sno delved in to her progressed schooling. When she reached the word doctorate though, she saw the look in his eyes, the one of fear that so many men before him. He wasn't scared of her...no, he was attracted to her. He was scared of her brains, scared of how smart she was compared to almost everyone else. At least he had finished the date and done the proper thing and paid, but when it came to arranging a second date, the conversation never came. She went home alone once more with that space open and vacant in her heart still.
Finally her hand seemed to move, reaching forward to open the door to the apartment. As she walked in, Kiko's attention moved from the video game she was playing to the blue haired woman.
"What's wrong?" she asked, her voice gentle.
Sno stopped and looked at Kiko for a moment. She hadn't ever heard that tone of voice from the other girl, but in all honesty, she couldn't say she minded it right then. She was already feeling in the dumps, and in result walked over and sat down on the couch next to the red head, her hands falling into her lap hopelessly.
"Sometimes I almost wish I wasn't as intellectual as I am, that I didn't overthink everything, that guys wouldn't be scared of it!" she suddenly blurted, feeling tears threatening at the back of her eyes.
Kiko's hand came over and sat on top of hers.
"I told you, guys are worthless, and like hell if you are going to pretend to be dumb for some idiot," she said, reaching up and poking Sno's forehead.
The ice senshi quickly shooed the others hand away, a small smile reaching across her lips for just a second.
"But...I don't want to be alone. I want someone...someone, to love, to hold me," she whispered.
Kiko just shrugged and gave the ice senshi a smile.
"Well then, we'll just have to find someone who'll listen to you go on about nothing forever. There's has to be someone who could do that."
"I have a feeling that day will come around the same time you find someone who can put up with Kiko Hino," Sno commented, a halfhearted laugh leaving her mouth.
Kiko just rolled her eyes, and in move that surprised even Sno, the other leaned over and wrapped her arms around her shoulders, holding her tightly.
"In the mean time, you got me, alright?"
Sno felt one tear run down her cheek, and she simply nodded her head, her own arms reaching out to hug Kiko in return.
"Thank you."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A month went by, and Sno's small breakdown passed without incident. There was only one other dating attempt in that time, and it was almost an exact repeat of the previous, and not surprisingly to the ice senshi, Kiko was there for her when she got home. While her friend, or by what she now considered her best friend, wasn't the normally sappy, emotional type, it seemed there was a side of her that was reserved specifically for Sno. The ice senshi simply made it a point not to tease the other about it like they normally teased each other.
During that time, Sno also began to keep a stronger eye geared toward the local news. Kiko's plan of attack of finding their 'type of problem' was to walk around town during the day and look for suspicious activity. Sno quickly decided she could be of use there, and watched the news for odd reports, along with her unusually high ability to sense energies. They could be blocks away from an enemy and Sno would pick up something while Kiko would just give off a confused look.
This was how Sno found out about a certain set of attacks one morning. As she watched the early news broadcast, one report stood out. People were disappearing randomly, usually only for 24 hours, before randomly appearing wandering around town with a mild case of amnesia. While the victims recovered mostly, they never seemed to be themselves completely, like some part of them was gone.
It was 8am as the news report finished, and Sno knew the sooner they looked into this the better. Of course, the absolute earliest her fire based friend ever got up required 2 digits to be in the hour, and it usually ended up being 1 digit with pm ending it. That didn't mean that Sno couldn't wake the other up if she wanted to though.
Walking into Kiko's room, she first attempted to open the curtains, turning to realize that the other woman was covered in a mound of blankets and pillows.
"Kiko? Kiiiiikooooo..." the woman cooed, only to receive absolutely no response. Not a murmur, or even the movement of a single limb.
With a groan, Sno walked over, pulling away a few layers of blankets and a pillow until she saw a mop of firey hair.
"Kiko."
Still no reaction.
"Kiko!"
Still no reaction.
"KIKO! WAKE UP!"
This time she heard a faint noise, the mess of hair moving ever so slightly.
"Mmschleppin, goesaway."
This time Sno let out a heavy sigh, rolling her eyes as she held her hands out above the woman in the bed. A moment later, after concentration on the element she had recently discovered inside of her, a blue light began to shine around her palms before a jet of water emitted from them. Making sure the water was colder than normal, the now wet mop of red hair suddenly flew off the bed, getting tangled in the blankets before falling to the floor with a loud thud.
"WHADDA ********]"
Sno just laughed a little before turning to walk back toward the door of the room.
"I just jump started your shower for the morning. Wake up, we've got to go," she said simply, walking out the doorway.
About a half hour later, after much grumbling and mumbling from Kiko as she got herself ready for the day, both of the girls were in the kitchen of the apartment. Sno had just finished making a pan of scrambled eggs, pushing the food out of the pan and onto two separate plates as she spoke.
"People have been leaving, going outside of town to hike on the trails in the surrounding forests, and disappearing. When they come back, they have amnesia, unable to remember anything about when they were gone, and even after they recover, they apparently aren't ever at 100%," she said, picking her fork up to start eating.
The red head across the island seemed to ponder the information she had said for a moment or two before waving her fork in the air toward Sno.
"And you got all this from the news?" she spoke through a mouthful of egg.
Sno just snorted a little, shaking her head.
"No, not all of it. I have friends at the local hospital, and gave one of them a call while you were getting ready. She told me of the patients peculiar condition when they came in, and all with the same story."
Once again, Kiko, just kept chewing her food, and after a bit of silence, Sno began to wonder if everything she said had sunk in for the fire senshi or if she was still half asleep. Once her plate was clean though, Kiko pushed it back toward Sno, standing up from the stool she was seated at and stretching enough to crack her back.
"Well, lets go let these jerks know they can't screw around in our town and get away with it."
Sno shook her head a little as she put the dirty dishes into the sink.
"There's a chance it might not be our kind of problem."
Kiko turned to look at Sno then, an eyebrow up to accompany her look of disbelief.
"You got me out of bed before noon. It's our kind of problem."

After checking with Snowflake and Solar, who quickly agreed with Sno about her suspicions, both girls were walking toward the trails on the outskirts of town, compacts in pocket and on high alert for anything out of the ordinary. As soon as their feet began to tread on the dirt of the path and not the concrete of the sidewalk, Sno let her senses wander as Kiko kept her gaze focused on the nearby. In the few times the girls had already gone out together to bring down whatever enemy was plaguing the city at any given time, the ice senshi had quickly found out that she was more proficient at sensing energies, and that Kiko was faster on her feet and better at the here and now of watching for small movements nearby.
Reaching about 2 miles down the path, as the trees overhead began to thicken and the light began to dim, something started to register in the back of Sno's mind. Almost like Kiko could read her mind, the two stopped, the red head turning to look at Sno.
"What is it? Can you-"
Suddenly, the energy that had been tickling at the back of Sno's mind exploded next to them in the trees, and before either had a chance to react, to reach their compacts and transform, figures were rushing from out of the trees. They were humanoid in nature, though obviously not any regular human, more like demons, or monsters, Sno wasn't sure how to describe them. Not that she had much time to dissect the beings, as they were rushing toward the girls with a speed that was most certainly not human.
Immediately, Kiko began putting her training to use, managing to land hit after hit on the beings before she had time pull her transformation forth, using her fire to aid her even further. Sno, on the other hand, had never had the training Kiko had in self defense, and without her transformation, could only attempt to avoid the attacks being thrown toward her. With the number of enemies though, the blue haired woman could only avoid so many times, and as expected, a hit connected with her shoulder, sending her flying back until she hit a tree with a sickening thud. Just as quickly, a shadowy hand was wrapped around her throat, pinning her there.
Even with her attention being captured by her own enemies, Kiko quickly noticed Sno's predicament, screaming for the other girl but being unable to get to her friend. In a moment of frustration, as the red head could apparently see Sno loosing her hold on consciousness, flames suddenly grew up around the fire senshi, making quick work of her enemies that were nearby. The sudden surge of energy had Sno's enemy loosening its grip on the girl, turning to charge toward Kiko. What the woman was holding though had Sno's eyes widening substantially. Taking down enemies like it was nothing, Kiko was wielding a katana, one that was burning brightly on fire, even though it was obvious the blade underneath was unaffected by the heat consuming it constantly.
