Story part.

*note this is really long.*

I remember feeling cold. Cold was the only other feeling I had besides the physical pain. My exhaustion was small yet my body still felt heavy and numb. I could hear sounds. Garbled but definitly sounds. I knew I was laying on something yet it felt foreign. It too was cold. The sounds were getting louder. I must be waking up to something. I could feel a hand on my shoulder as if trying to hold me down.
"She has been missing for so long..." A strange voice said. I could tell the noise was now a language. I would have to hear more before being able to speak it myself.
"Well who is she...?" A second voice. It sounded like a question. Was it talking about me? They don't know who I am. I am... wait. Who am I?
"It doesn't matter right now. No one is to know we have a female Hao amoungst us." So now it doesn't who I am. But I want to know who I am too. I felt a foreign emotion overcome my body. I felt as if I was convulsing. I slowly opened my eyes to look at the people for help. My face felt wet which stung even more since the air was cold. I saw a man with dark hair that had parts of blonde right where the light hit. He had dark thick eyebrows with a square jaw. His eyes were a brilliant bronze color with thick lasses to frame them. His skin was light tan and appeared very soft. His eyes seemed as moist as my face did.
The other man had long blonde hair that seemed light and fluffy. His skin was pale which complimented his emerald eyes nicely. His face was more angular shaped but his features were very defined. He seemed taller and leaner than the other man. Both of the men were looking at me strangely. Then the first man sat me up then wrapped his arms around me. He started stroking my head and breathing in my ear.
"It's ok. I know your scared but we'll take care of you" He said over and over again. The second man was just standing there still looking at me. It made me me shudder as I let out sob. It wasn't until the man walked over and wiped my face with his hand. He looked at me sternly then turned towards the other man.
"So what are we supposed to do with her? Train her to be a seeker or what?"
"That might not be so bad." The other said pulling away to stand next the one starring so rudely. "She is pure so nearly everything would already be natural to her. And..." A loud noise cut him off. He looked at the blonde one with a serious look. I heard them speaking yet their mouths were not moving. This seemed some what normal yet they bothe looked strained in doing so.
"Take her to get cleaned up. Possibly talking and we will find out how she landed here. I'll contact the other bases and have them take care of the break outs. I'll talk to the other officers and make sure that this stays quiet."
"Yes sir."
"And make sure that your men don't find out. We don't want them to get excited about the fact that a woman is amoungst us." Then the dark haired one turned and left the room leaving with the mean looking blonde. The blonde sighed then looked at me.
"Hello."
"..." I still didn't know how to say the language correctly so I just looked at him.
"My name is Galihai."
"..."
"Can you speack English?"
"Hsiengli?" I tried but the language felt unnatural to even say. Galihai looked frustrated then rubbed his temples before looking at me again. I could hear him like he was talking to the other man.
"I know your scarred but you need to get over that. Tell me your name and what you remember." He seemed to be struggling speaking that way the same way I struggled to speak his way. I closed my eyes and tried listening to others minds. Trying to disect the language so I could comunicate to him. After sitting there for what seemed like ages Galihai touched my shoulder. I looked up at him at saw some concern on his face which was quickly replaced by the serious expression.
"Nothing." I whispered.
"Your name?
"No."
"Well what do you remember?
"Nothing." My reponse seemed to confuse Galihai. I could hear his thoughts. They kept circleing around how it was possible that I was stronger yet didn't know anything. And about how I was probably 'messing' with him, whatever that was supposed to mean.
"I'm not that strong am I? And how do you know if I'm strong? What is this place called? Why are worried about me being a girl and that no one can find out about me being a girl?" The more I asked questions the more he stopped thinking. Eventually to where I could no longer read his thoughts. "Are you hiding something from me?" Galihai looked at me more annoyed and frustrated. He might have realized that I was listening to his thoughts.
"Your strong because in a foreign enviroment you have all ready found out how to communicate. Even though you were upset you still tried and focused enough to do that. This place," Galihai gestured to the room. "Is called the infirmary. This is part of our military base. The planet is called Earth." He stopped and looked at me. Galihai walked over and held out his hand. "Lets get you cleaned up."
I hesitantly grabbed his hand. I saw him cringe so I lightened my grip. I would have to be careful. Galihai led me out of the infirmary and down a hall. After a few turns and doors he left me in a tiled room. Before he left he told me not to worry but some humans would help me. Galihai said that humans looked like us but smaller. It wasn't until I saw two walk in that I understood what a human was. Humans are very small and frail. However with the way they walked up to me they were brave.
"Do you always walk around naked girl.?" The shorter one said. She looked old and very round. The other wore something over her eyes and looked sick.
"Naked?" I asked some what confused about the problem.
"You see child. What we wearin' is called clothes. When you ain't wearin' no clothes it called being naked." She shook her head then pushed the other one towards me. "Help me get her in the tub." The sickly looking one pointed to a metal container. I looked inside it and saw a hole in the bottom. There were metal knobs and another tube over hangin one side of the container.
"Well get in all ready."
"But it has a hole in it."
"The hole will be stopped up when we start putting water in the tub. Now get in the bloomin thing." She pushed me towards the tub but since she was so small I didn't even feel her stongest attempts of force. The sickly one looked up at me and her face turned red.
"Could you please step inside the bathtub. Your covered in dirt and ash and we were told to help get you clean." I nodded then stepped inside. The bathtub was cold and slick. I don't know why but Earth seemed to be a very cold place. Everything was cold. When the older human turned on the water that too was cold. Once the tub was filled with the chilly water the sickly one started showing me how on Earth they was up.
"See you get wet, that means your hair too. It helps when you hold your breath like this and then go under the water to get your hair wet. Okay good. Now hold out your hand. This is soap for your hair. Rub it in real good like to make sure your hair gets all bubbly and that way the dirt will come out. This here is a scrub brush. You use this to wash your body. Hold on let me put some soap on that for you. Okay good. Now scrub your body and make sure to get under your nails and between your toes. Don't forget behind your ears. Okay good. Now go under the water again to get all the soap off. Once all the soap and dirt is off pull the plug and the water will drain out. Okay good. Here these are some towels. Use them to dry yourself off now."
The sick one sure was very specific on how one should clean themselves. I didn't like the soap since it irritated my eyes and the scrub brush seemed rough and also irritated my skin. Once done cleaning and drying off the old woman, who had left to get some clothes, returned pushing a cart that seemed at least the same size as her if not bigger.
"These are some clothing for ya girl. They might be a little thin but they the biggest thing we got for a girl ya size." I pulled out and delicatly unfolded the clothes. They seemed very thin. The old woman showed me how to put them on over my head, making sure my head went through the large hole. The pants as she called them felt strange to wear as if my legs were being constricted and couldn't move as freely. I had to remind myself that I had to be careful since everything was so delicate. Once I was dressed the large man from earlier stepped into the room. He looked at me and smiled.
"Sorry about earlier. I have been made aware that you don't know exactly what is happening. I will explain and show you to your room." He smiled again and held out his hand. I grabbed it carefully not wanting to hurt him like I did to Galihai. He led me out of the room and down a set of different hallways. We went down stairs, as he called them, onto another floor,as he called it also, into a room. The room was slightly dim but seemed quite large. The man turned towards me and told me to sit on the bed.
"My name is Badru. I am like you, a person from Hao. I was sent here to recruit men who are half breeds between Hao and human." He paused a moment allowing me to think about what he was saying. "Hao half breeds are all male since our people have very little men. So, if it is found out that a female Hao is amoungst our men bad things would happen."
"But why? I haven't done anything wrong." Badru smiled gently when I said that and I didn't know why.
"Bad things just will happen. However we want to make sure that you are safe until we can get you safely back home. So Galihai and his men will take care of you. Try to do what Galihai says, okay? Today has been a long day. Try and get some rest." I nodded in response and Badru lef the room. He said he would explain things but I felt more confused and lost then before. I pulled my knees up to my chest layed my head down and let my face feel moist. I didn't know who I was or what was going on or why.
I closed my eyes for only a moment when I saw a face with no eyes lunge towards mine. I opened my I eyes to see I was still alone. I heard footsteps and voices. It seemed that they were coming towards my door. I hid under the blankets not knowing why people would be running towards me. Badru was right. Bad things would happen to me if people found out I was a girl. The humans must have told others. The door swung open and hit the wall with a loud thud noise. The foot steps stopped. I could hear panting. There was at least six people who were in the room. Then I heard laughing.
"Jeezus. That was scary." One man said. I was still scarred about what they might do when I felt someone pull away the blankets. I saw a man with light brown hair and light blue eyes. He was close enough to my face that I could smell his breath. His features on his face were very soft and his skin was light enough that I could see his veins. He smiled sweetly then turned to the others. I was right there was a total of six people in the room. They were all similar in height but that was the only thing they had in common.
"I mean did you see that thing." One was still ranting on about some frightening expirience.
"Will you shut up. Can't you see ya'll nearly scared her half to death." Another exclamed punching the loud one the arm.
"Men please calm down." The one sitting next to me spoke. The men stopped and looked at me. Two of their mouths fell open.
"Well no wonder Galihai said we had to keep this a secret. She's mighty perty. I don't know if I want to share her." The loud one started walking over bouncing with every step. There was a smaller one in the group who growled at the loud one. He then jumped and tackled the loud one smacking his head into the ground. Another one grabbed both of the men and stood them on their feet.
"Goddammit. Will you two stop it. Jeezus look at the poor thing." He pointed towards me before turning back to the rest of the group. "We should all pay our respects to the young lady and introuduce ourselves. She's new remember." He turned and then looked at me right in the eyes.
"Hello my name is Matt. I'm second in command under Galihai." The man sitting next to me turned to face me.
"I'm Isiah. I'm a sensory specialist." Then the small one stepped forward.
"I'm Derek. I'm new too so if you need a guide I'm here for you." One who hadn't moved at all turned as if to leave.
"I'm Sam." then he left the room. The loud one started to step forward when the other one stopped him.
"I'm Daniel and this jack a** is Nathan. Pay him no mind. He get stupid around normal people." Daniel smiled and his eyes got crinkles around the edges. These were probably the men that Badru was talking about.
"Uh.. umm hello." I stuttered. "I don't know my name." I tried to mimic Daniel's smile but ended up just staring at the floor.
"I know why don't we pick a name for you!" Nathan exclamed. His mouth was covered by Matt's hand and he was then drug out of the room. Derek, Daniel and Isiah stood there staring at me. It made me feel akward and somewhat uneasy. I realized that these were the nicer ones from the group of men yet with the three of them being quiet I could hear there thoughts more loudly. They probably didn't realize like Galihai had that thinking things is almost like saying them out loud. I felt really akward when I looked up from the floor and saw that they were still staring at me. I let out a mental screem and they all flinched. Isiah fell off the bed then looked at me wide eyed. Derek and Daniel were giving me the same look. I heard more footsteps this time of people running back to the room. This Badru and Galihai were with the group of people.
"What happened?"
"You heard that." I managed to whisper.
"Well no der. Ow" This time Sam slapped Nathan in the chest.
"But I didn't actually scream. I'm sorry." I stared at the floor. I didn't know why but I felt an overwhelming sadness. Why didn't they know who I was? Why were they all thinking about me and about my physical appearance? Why was my face all ways wet? I started to shudder. I felt cold all time and not knowing anything also made me feel empty. Everything felt strange and wrong. It shouldn't have to be cold or confusing. I felt a set of arms around me. Then another set and another. I was soon surrounded with arms and bodies.
"I'm sorry I was being a bully." Nathan was saying that as he was rubbing his head against my leg.
"Yeah we're sorry." Daniel and Derek said in unison. Everyone started letting go. Sam and Matt pat and rubbed my head. They seemed a lot quieter than the rest. After everyone appologized everyone filed out except for Galihai. He stayed and was still holding me. Galihai seemed so physically strong that if I breathed wrong he could crush me. He pulled away and looked me straight in the eyes. He seemed to like to do that a lot.
"Try to sleep. If you don't remember your name then give yourself one. That way we have something to call you. Also, I know you don't realize it but when you have a strong emotion we all feel it. We don't know why but if you can stay calm that would help us also. All right?" I nodded. Galihai intimidated me so I would do as he told. "I will stay outside as a guard to make sure none of the others come in to bother you. We have a big day tomorrow so try not to panic and we'll take it one step at a time." Galihai helped me to lay in the bed then left the room. I wondered what he wanted to do tomorrow.
I tried to listen to what Galihai had said. I tried to stay calm. In order to stay calm I had to not think. I really didn't know what sleep was besides laying in a bed. After laying for some time I heard a knock on the door. I walked over and peeked out the open door. It was Galihai. He had changed his clothes. He looked at me up and down. I looked down too. I didn't realize I had no clothes. I turned and looked at the bed and saw it smoldering. Galihai looked inside also and shook his head.
"Is something wrong?" I felt I did something wrong.
"No. Everything is fine. We will work on that today. In the mean time I will bring you some clothes. Stay here." Galihai turned and walked away still shaking his head. I watched to make sure he left the hallway. I didn't want to be rude but I wanted to get rid of the empty feeling. This feeling was different than the other empty feeling. It was a physical ache coming from the core of my body. Once I was sure Galihai was far enough away I started down the hall. I remembered my way from the infirmary so I decided that would be the way to go. Once I made it to the infirmary I tried looking for other hallways. Maybe they would lead me to what I need. I started down a different hall when I ran into Sam. He looked at me shocked.
"Oh sorry Sam."
"What the hell are you doing?" His face looked angry.
"What do you mean?" Sam grabbed my shoulders firmly.
"What are you doing here? In this hallway? With no clothes?"
"Sorry. My stomach hurt and I wanted to know what I could do to make it not hurt." I had my hand on my stomach the whole time and then Sam's expression softened. He let go of my shoulders and grabbed my hand. He shook his then led me down the hall with out talking. His hand was moist and face was too but it's wasn't coming from his eyes.
"Why are you sweating? Sam didn't reply instead just started walking faster. He seemed to be sweating more. I looked at him at the same moment he looked back. His face went angry again when he turned and started running. He was pulling on my arm. When we reached a door he pushed it open then me into the room. I saw tables and chairs and more tiles like in the room where I got clean.
"Get her food now!" Sam yelled then turn and left the room. I saw Isiah peek around a corner from another hallway within the room. I tried to smile and Isiah slowly smile back. He put his hand up but with only one finger pointed up. He turned and left but only after a moment returned with clothes.
"Here. You shouldn't walk around with no clothes. It annoys people." Isiah handed me the clothes. "I'll go get you some food and you put those on." He turned away through doors that had no handles. The clothes he gave me were thicker and had a pleasant smell to them. I put them one and decided to sit at a chair. Isiah returned with two disks and a cylindar shape. He placed them in front of me and smiled.
"I don't know what you normally eat but I brought what I normally like." He grabbed the metal thing with prongs and pointed to all the food with it. After he said what everything was including what I now know as the fork, he pushed the plates toward me and smiled again. "Is something wrong?"
"I don't know if I ever ate food like this." I had the fork and poked at the eggs and bacon. The food seemed so small but there was large amounts of it. "I don't know but using my mouth feels weird."
"Well at least try a bite of the muffin. It's chocolate and uh human woman love chocolate."
"Why do human woman love chocolate?" I tilted my head thinking why only one gender would specifically like a certain type of food. Isiah smiled then broke the muffin in half. Unlike the other items it was large enough to fill my hand. I watched Isiah take a bite then mimicked the action. Chocolate was an interesting taste. After a few bites I could feel the pain in my stomach lessening. After eating the muffin and everything on the plate and the juice I felt even lest pain. Isiah watched in amazement after I asked for more for the third time and still ate everything in front of me. Yet my stomach pain didn't lessen enough.
"What's the matter?" Isiah was looking at me a short distance from my face. The door opened and Galihai walked in with clothes.
"What happened to stay there?" He seemed angry but then saw I had clothes on.
"Sorry I was hungry and my stomach hurt. So I went to find something and then I ran into Sam and I think Sam is mad at me or isn't feeling well cause he was sweaty when he led me here but he led me here and I found Isiah and Isiah got me clothes and food but now I'm not hungry but my stomach still hurts and..."
"Okay okay. I see." Galihai interupted me. "Thank you Isiah for feeding her." Isiah nodded then left the room. The expression on his face looked guilty as if taking care of me was wrong. Galihai took Isiah's spot infront of me. He looked me in the eyes then shook his head.
"I think I know why your body still hurts."
"Why?"
"Let me show you." Galihai touched my hand and we were suddenly not surrounded by the tiles or any walls at all. I was looking around taking in the scene then turned towards Galihai. "We don't have time to spend forever explaining things for you. Do you understand?" I nodded. I didn't worry I felt warm. I looked up at the sky and saw a star. The star's light was making me feel warm. I felt Galihai still touching my arm but I just looked up at the star and absorbed it's warmth.
"Are you listening?" I turned to Galihai. His face was serious and his jaw was set. "Now I want you to understand. I am going to help you understand the situation here on earth. This will explain and answer most of your questions except for specific ones about yourself." Galihai placed his hands on both sides of my face. He pressed his forhead down to mine. I felt an overwhelming flow of knowledge of Earth's history and about the people I come from. When Galihai pulled away I fell backwards and landed on the ground. I took a moment to process and understand everything sent to me. However I still had a big hole since I still knew nothing about myself. I did remember one thing. I looked up at Galihai and smiled.
"Aceline. My name is Aceline."
