* Re: Obama and LGBTQ folk. Yes, I'd like more, but I always do, and he's done way more than anyone else ever. It doesn't mean I'm not going to keep asking for more, but honestly, I was expecting a lot less out of the last Presidential election, whether Obama or Hillary had won the nomination, so in my books, Obama's way exceeded my hopes in the LGBTQ front. I still am grumpy about the war, Gitmo, and other things along those lines, but on the LGBTQ thing I'm happier with him than I ever expected to be. I think this needs to be said, as he gets a lot of flack from both sides on this stuff.

* Props to Barney Frank for saying as he himself had behaved inappropriately in the past, he feels he has no right to set himself up in judgement over the conduct of others. It's nice to see such a refreshing lack of sexual hypocrisy in an elected official. Now if he'd stop throwing the trans folk under the bus, I'll be back to liking him.

* It may be that speaker Boehner is breaking the law by moving funds appropriated for another purpose to defend DOMA. I wish he'd explain how spending all this money to defend discrimination creates jobs or cuts the deficit, the Republican's stated prime directives for this congress, because it sure looks like wasting money to me, on top of the whole illegal appropriation of funds issue.

* Wisconsin Supreme Court just reinstated the Union stripping law. Sigh. As expected, the alleged election fraud in their supreme court election really paid off for republicans.

* There is now reason to believe newt Gingrich's "charity," corporation, and election fund are involved in complex financial malfeasance. I am not surprised.

* I wish New York luck on the marriage equality vote.

* I've had the chance to digest the latest Republican debate, and the only thing I really have to say is that it's like not one of them understands basic math or economics 102. Sigh. The racism, stupidity, and lies about basic facts were also par for the course.
