This is a story I am currently working on. Please comment ^_^
I left the house that day for the last time with nothing but sorrow and anger on my face. I was fed up with all of their lies and I was fed up with all of their greed. I had packed everything up into my car that night and was now leaving to go live with my sister in Pennsylvania. It was a two day trip by car and a 3 hour ride on plane but long car rides have always been my favorite way to travel.
As I drove down the road it started pouring down the rain so I parked in the parking lot of a nearby coffee shop and went inside to wait out the rain. When I went inside I noticed that there weren’t very many people inside so I walked to an empty table close to a window near my car and sat down. After I sat down I noticed a man about my age looking at me. At first I was embarrassed and uncomfortable but then when I got a good look at his face I felt more relaxed almost and definitely curious. I look away so he wouldn’t know I knew he was staring at me and for a moment I really forgot he was, until he got up and walked to my table.
“Hi, is this seat taken?”
I jumped at bit at him speaking to me so clearly. He was tall with shoulder length black hair. His eyes sparkled with the deepest shade of brown looking almost black but not quite. He was wearing a black band t-shirt and dark jeans, and black and white converse high tops. He had a lip piercing in the middle of his bottom lip and bright red gages in his ears. He looked so dark and yet his voice was so calm and kind, almost familiar sounding. I was stunned.
“Go right ahead.” I said with a small smile.
He smiled right back and sat down across from me. There was just something about the way his eyes sparkled or the way his smile made you feel so warm or maybe it was the way his voice made you feel so welcomed and so loved even if you were a complete stranger like me. Whatever it was that made me feel so comfortable around him I wasn’t able to understand it.
“My name’s Tony. I saw you sitting here all alone and I decided that I’d come and sit with you and give you some company.” He said smiling.
“Hi, my name’s Stella.” I smiled and shook his out stretched hand.
I blushed when he gripped my hand so firm but gentle. Then I looked away to try to hide the red on my face. I felt so strange around him and I couldn’t understand why. I looked back out the window, it had been already ten minutes and the rain was still coming down hard as ever. I sigh and put my face in my hands.
“What’s wrong Stella?” He said in a concerned tone of voice.
“If this rain doesn’t stop I’ll never get to my sister’s house. Emily’s expecting me in two days and this rain has completely set me back.”
I was surprised at how easy it was to tell him things I would never tell a complete stranger. I would have never told a stranger where I was going before, why did I do it this time? Was it because I feel different around him? I never tell things like that to strangers. I took a deep breath and let it out. Everything will be better when I get to Emily’s house. Maybe then I can think things out.
“Is there any way for you to call her and let her know that you’ll be behind schedule?”
I looked up and sat back up to rummage through my pockets. I looked through my last pocket and pulled out my cell phone and flipped it open only to find that I had no service what so ever. I sighed and set it down on the table.
“That’s just great, no service.”
Tony pulled out his high tech new iPhone and grabbed mine looking through the contacts until he found Emily’s phone number. He dialed it on his phone and then made sure he had service and called her handing me the phone with a smile on his face after it started to ring. I was a little hesitant to take the phone but I did as she picked up on the other line.
“Emily, hey it’s Stella. I’m going to be a little late getting to your house okay. Yes I’m fine I just don’t trust driving in the rain. I’ll be there as soon as I can okay. I love you too sis. Bye.”
I hung up the phone and handed it back to him.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” I said with a confused look on my face.
“Well, I’m a nice person and I know your phone didn’t have service so I let you use mine. Do you want me to just leave you alone, because I will if you do?”
“No, it’s just that, I’ve never met someone like you before. It comes as a surprise to me.”
He smiles at me and I smile back not knowing I did.
“More people should treat you better than that. You’re a beautiful girl and from what I’ve seen of your personality it’s matches you perfectly. You deserve to be treated better.”
I blush and smile looking down embarrassed. I felt so different around him. It had been a full year since I had felt like this. Ever since Chris left me I haven’t dated anyone and the same feeling I got from Chris was coming from Tony, but a hundred times stronger. I haven’t been with someone for so long but there was no way this feeling was real. Why would I feel this way about a total stranger? I just met him only 2 hours ago… but the way he makes me feel around him isn’t my imagination. Besides he wouldn’t even think of being with me anyway. He deserves someone with more money and someone prettier and more his type then someone like me. He got up and sat close beside me while my head still hung down and tilted my head up with his hand gently touching my chin.
“Don’t hide those beautiful eyes from anyone. Don’t be embarrassed when people comment you on your beauty smile and show them how beautiful you really are.”
“That was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. Thank you.” I blush a little and smile at him.
We talked and exchange funny stories for hours after that. We acted like we’d been friends for years. He told me so many things about himself and I felt care free and did the same. Never did I think I was ever going to just tell everything to a stranger having only met them a few hours but with Tony everything just felt so different. We talked and laughed for hours learning so many new things about each other. It was now midnight and the store was closing up. We talked for basically the whole ay without realizing it and by that time the rain had completely stopped. We walked outside so the manager could close up and talked more at my car. He gave me his phone number and I did the same.
“So where are you headed to?” I asked smiling and unlocking my car.
“I’ve got to get back to my house up in Pennsylvania. I just came back from a visit to my parent’s house.” He said smiling and unlocking his car and putting his satchel in the backseat.
“Really, my sister lives in Pennsylvania. That’s where I’m head as well. You should come by and see us sometime.” I blushed and smiled at him.
He smiled back and opened my door for me. I blushed and smiled back at him stepping in my car as he closed the door for me. I started the car and rolled the window down. He bent down and leaned on the window smiling at me.
“I’ll be sure to do that. Call me when you get to your sister’s house so I’ll know your safe.”
“I will, I promise.” I blushed and smiled at him wanting him to kiss me but knowing he wouldn’t I rolled my window up and drove up the road to continue my traveling.
