“No!” Richard blurted out. “I know nothing about lab work!”
“You can learn!” Elm replied laughing and patting Richard's shoulder.
“Is there ANYthing else I can do for you” Richard asked in a sigh.
“Well I suppose you could go see Mr. Pokemon for me.. he has something for me... there is only one reason I dont have it yet....” Elm considered and looked at his lab hands who cowered in fear and hid from his gaze. “Yeah I suppose that will have to do!” Elm agreed to this for Richard in a happy tone, “Feel free to choose, The Fire type; Cyndaquil, The water type; Totodile, or the Grass Type; Chikorita.”
Richard walked over to the desk where they were and quietly thought about his his next choice. As he reached for his choice the house shook and he knocked over one of the pokeballs. With this reaction the grass type, Chikorita appeared. Richard looked at the Chikorita, which stared back at him. Soon after both smirked at each other and nodded.
***Clint**Chikorita**Rash, Likes to Run. Lv.5 – New Bark Town.
“Wh..what was that!” a terrified Professor Elm cried out. “That had to be a Pokemon! But..but why...” His fear quickly had transformed into scientific curiosity. “Richard, you go ahead and go get that parcel for me, We'll try and see if we can find a reason why that happened...” Professor elm quickly shooed Richard away from the lab.
“So..whats your name Partner?” the Chikorita looked up at Richard, somehow the Chikorita got a small wheat plant in its mouth, and a red bandana making him resemble a cowboy.
“R.richard... how'd you get those things?” Richard asked though this was not the first time in his journey something like this has happened. “oh..and sorry for being a little rude I was just...still in shock for what just happened back there.”
“Ah these? I had them on earlier too..” he gave a small shrug. “Oh and you can call me Clint. It'll be a pleasure working with ya partner” Clint added in having a small accent as he spoke.
“..You too, well I have an errand to run for Professor Elm..so we should get going” Richard informed clint, who gave a simple nod and they both began their journey towards Mr. Pokemon's house.
As soon as they began to leave the village Lyra ran up and stopped them, “Chikorita? Oh thats adorable! And his little bandana too!” Lyra excitedly remarked on Clint's fashion sense. “ Before I forget.. Here is part one of my repayment towards knocking you down!” She then reached into her bag and pulled out a case of potions. “ I hope you'll find a use for these..oh wait that sounded kinda backwards...I hope you won't have to use them! “ she fumbled around her words. “A..anyway I'll see you later!” she ran off flustered.
“...That was odd...” Clint laughed and shook his head, “but she seems nice at least.” He started to walk on and notioned for Richard to follow. Soon they were on the road again. Taking their time they wondered down the route. When suddenly a loud noise rang out and a Hoothoot attacked! Clint reacted by tackling it down and backing up so he could get more power for the next one. The Hoothoot studied his movement and then got tackled again before letting out a cry. Its life had slipped away. Clint was confused.. he hadn't hit it THAT hard...did he. “I..” he started but was stopped by Richard.
“...You've heard of Arceus right?” Richard began. Clint nodded. “...Well for certain trainers they are..I dunno how to word it.. but they are 'Destined for greatness' ..and well those who are chosen have to play by a game so to speak with Destiny...with Arceus.. and I'm one of those trainers...” he admitted to Clint, “I..have gone on two other journeys before this one..but I will beat Arceus at this 'game' and we will win! So don't worry! Okay!” Clint listened in awe...and silently looked ahead before he kept walking...
