Okay as some people may know I bought 3 gerbils 2 months back. I was first told they were all females, brought them home. Noticed the "mother" had some manly body parts going on, so I called the petstore... They claimed they only sold males they just put 'mom and babies are ready to go' because it sounded cuter. They don't sell female gerbils due to the fact that they are more aggressive, bite quicker have a temper and people like to get gerbils because they like to breed them giving an over population of gerbils....
Well what the petstore 'experts' didn't know is they sold me 2 females with dad.... I then got a litter of babies (they are 4 days old today) It started out as 6, its down to 2. I made the dumb mistake of getting rid've dad.... So now the sisters are taking care of the babies -crosses fingers they live-
I have decided i am going to find a new male and breed, not for money. I already know people cannot make a profit out of breeding gerbils, I am doing it so I can have some sweet tempered gerbils like my 2 females. So I found out about this exotic pet shop that is a half hour drive away from where I live! and besides gerbils they sell SKUNKS!
I have wanted a skunk for over a year! They are one of my favorite animals! And it may seem weird and gross to most people but I LOVE the smell of skunk! (yes, there is something wrong with me. I already know this..) Granted the skunks will be de-scented when I buy them but OH MY GOD! I could have a skunk! one that is breed to be a pet! I wouldn't have to wait for a wild one! Do you know how PUMPED I am! I can't get one right now though... I would have to wait until about 3 years and be living in my own house. So now I hope the petstore will still be opened by then so I can own my own skunk!
I'm weird, I know. But I will accept and embrace it biggrin
