Untamed Wolf

You were running, or more like being chased by a wolf. You had been walking along minding your own business when a growl met your ears, and you turned to face the animal and found it to be a large ebony wolf, its lips were lifted, revealing its fangs. Not wanting to become wolf chow, you turned and ran, the beast was not far behind you.

You glanced over your shoulder, the wolf wasn&t there. Perhaps it had decided to give up. You stopped to catch your breath. The sound of foot falls on snow came from beside you, from the forest, and you resist the urge to run & it could be a deer.

It was not a deer though, the dark furred wolf soon stood a foot and a half away, something was in its mouth, the object was box shaped and covered in paper? A present? That could not be. . . And yet, the canine set it down, its eyes never leaving you as it did so. Then, almost as quickly as it had appeared, the wolf was gone. You walked over and picked the present up, the tag had a name and a message on it:

What a jerk! This was the third time that jerk had stood you up. Here you were all dressed up with a black dress, make up, and your hair pinned up. You sat frustrated and heartbroken at the table alone, he would probably just send you a &sorry& text over your phone tomorrow morning.

There was no point in staying here anymore. Crumpling up the napkin that was spread over your knees you threw it upon your empty plate and stood up furiously. There was still a bit of wine left in your glass, so you decided to drink that before storming off.

It was cold outside and it was a struggle to open your car door with numb hands. Once the door flung open you promptly sat yourself in the seat, turned on your car and felt some relief as the heater began to heat the interior. Staying still for a moment you begin to reflect on your love life.
This guy...he seemed so perfect for you, yet he--

You notice a small box with a card attached in the passenger's seat.

&I see you didn't eat tonight. Maybe this will make you feel better until you get home.

Christmas Dinner shouldn't be spent alone...how about a simple coffee shop, would that suffice?&
