arrow If you want to make gold really fast, always click the 'here' icon after you submit something so the page loads faster. This way you can return to a topic or find a new one and begin your response. You can't respond immediately after a post. You have to wait about 40 seconds between posts.

arrow Do polls. Check Chatterbox for tons of polls.

arrow If you copy and paste the same bump message, you save a lot of time, especially if you don't have much to begin with when using Gaia. You need a moderate sized message, not too extreme but not too short. The typical 'bump' has never really helped me too well when trying to speed up my gold making progress. Here's a sample bump message that you might consider using in say.. The Welcome to Gaia Forum:

"Welcome to Gaia. You'll be able to role play, discuss almost anything, fish, customize your avatar, design a house, play cards, travel through Towns, and more. If you're looking for a new friend, feel free to PM me."

Now, you just use that same message for numerous topics. You can even post it in chatterbox. After each post, find a poll, and vote. Then repeat. Post. Poll. Post. Poll. I've done it for over a month now and find that I can make up to 600g an hour.

arrow Join a role play group. You post, develop a storyline, and make gold without effort.

arrow Sell enchanted boxes if you get them in special events. Don't open them. You may not get a good item. You can sell them for 2500 gold (a lot of people want them so you should see who offers the highest price, some people can offer up to 1500). I'd rather take 2500 gold than risk it for something that could be worth like..200. To sell items, go to The Gaia Exchange or to the Marketplace on the Map.

arrow It might even help to save links to topics you like to your favorite places so you can get there immediately.

arrow To buy a trading pass go to the map then the Isle of Gambino's Bank and buy it. It allows you to trade. It costs 500 gold.

arrow Check the Gaia Exchange for any sales. A lot of better items can't be found in stores, so try to save up your gold.

arrow Make a journal. Each day you sign on, create a journal entry before you do anything else. You should make 20-30 gold.

arrow Purchase monthly items (preferably on Gaia unless you can spare real money) and hold onto them for a few months. The prices should raise significantly and you can make thousands more gold for selling them. [example: I bought a Kiki Kitty in April for 8k, now they sell for 30-40k]

arrow If you use a mule, open another window so you can answer polls and post on both accounts (so you have something to do in the time you have to wait to submit another post). Then you can have your mule send the gold to you.

arrow If you want to make a lot of gold quickly, you might have to sacrifice a day. If you have the energy to use Gaia from like 7am - 8pm during vacation for a day or two, you should be able to make a lot of gold and stumble into 1 or 2 special events.

DO NOT BEG FOR MONEY IN THE WELCOME TO GAIA SECTION! Go to the charity section and do that.

While on Gaia you may see a bubble sticking out of your character's face (like when you have mail, invites, etc.) Special events are in that bubble, but the symbol is a large exclamation mark (!) When this happens, look around for the following:

1) Stay on the screen. If you see an enchanted trunk or giftbox float across, click it. You can then open it in my inventory.

2) Look around for a pink link. One of the topics titles (it could be any) on Gaia should have a glowing pink aura. Click it and you instantly receive 1000 gold.

Selling Special Event Prizes

While enchanted trunks rarely have good items (if you're lucky, the best you'll find is an alien mask or fox ears), you should probably avoid opening it. Instead, go to the Gaia Exchange and sell it. You can make 2000+ gold. It's better than being stuck with something worth 100-200. Don't take that risk! Special events are RARE!!

Enchanted Golden Trunks are worth about 6,100g. The prices raise when the item it contains is more valuable.

Sometimes you'll see winged giftboxes foating on your screen. Blue giftboxes are worth about 5,400-6000g. Brown giftboxes are woth 1800-2000g. Pink giftboxes are worth 17,000-18,000g. Pink boxes have awesome stuff inside. Open it for yourself, or sell it for like 11,000 gold.

If you're looking for avi art or anything like that, try the following:
1) Requests & Commissions
2) Minishops
( Specifically here )
3) Art Arena

Bump topics claiming to give you rare items after 10 or 20 bumps are lies intended to deceive you so you help someone else's topic become popular. Bumping has no benefits aside from creating meaningless posts and wasting time. Special events are completely random and have no connection to bumping. Gold does not grow any quicker by bumping.

Bumping is boring for the most part. While some people can do it thousands of times for 6 hours a day or more.. others can't stand it. Other topics that can be annoying are questionaires that tell you to answer 100 or more questions in separate posts to make a lot of gold.

The best way to make gold in my opinion involves 3 things:
1 - Find or create a topic about something you like (there are tons of categories to choose from on Gaia - click here and look at the list) . Maybe you enjoy role playing Inu Yasha? Good. Subscribe to that topic. You'll make friends from a common interest and post often. You won't be bored because it's something that appeals to you. Spend some time to explore Gaia. Find out where things are. A lot of people on Gaia who have been around for months, didn't even know there were topics outside of Chatterbox and Welcome to Gaia. That's sad.

2 - You can't post 10 times then suddenly give up. Too many n00bs do this and then start begging. People earn their gold on Gaia. They post regularly. Just because you have nothing doesn't mean people have to donate to you. Earn your gold. People hate beggars because beggars want the easy way out. Travel around Gaia. See what it has to offer. Gambling, fishing, lotteries, role playing, idiotic conversations, mature debates.. Gaia has something for everyone.

3 - If you're questing or opening a mini-shop (to sell banners, avi art, animated characters, etc.)..

Go to www.bannerbreak.com

You can create free text banners there. You can use those banners to make your topic more interesting.. you know.. like using the first few posts to explain what you're questing for, topic rules, people who've donated, etc. Don't type words like 'u' 'ur' 'don8' 'b4' etc. Spell out words so people don't think you're a typical idiot n00b. The more you put into your topic, the better the response from others. Also, you can't just give up easily. You have to stay persistent and bump a lot to keep your topic visible.

Here's my friend's topic. I designed it for her: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12742160&page=1

You can use it as an example to help decorate and improve yours.
