A sundial emerges, Half full, Filled with sunlight. This hemisphere drenched, The other parched. The sun glares upon the world, Singing the soil, The trees, The leaves, The outer flesh of the moving body, Water scatters in fear, Droplets, Tears, Running down the face of the earth. To the rivers, Streams, Underneath, Into the soil, Out of the soil, Stripped, Into the sky, Fused with the brown blood of the sea. Swallowed by clouds, Ingested by plants, Breathed by beings.
