Growth in God
Basically charting my growth in God
Matrims Tale
Matrim grew up in a one room house with his father. Raised on the tales and lores of old, long past years, because of this he could not help but gain a love for swordplay and mazes. His father would often teach him of the love that upheld each virtue, a love that without, the virtues would merely vanish. It was the romance of things that kept this chaotic world in order. Night after night in his growing years his father would repeat these stories of knights bold with courageous hearts that would fend off the Dragnr and protect all they cared for, or of mages with powers that threatened to shake the very fabric of nature sacrificing their very beings in order to prevent all from crumbling.

His desire grew often to be in this land of lore, after his studies and his chores he would practice in the mazes he made and the weapons his father had carved. Often times joined by a young lady by the name Helena Belle. She was a lover of the mazes he made, though truthfully it is just one maze modified after each successful run that Helena made. The mazes were not made for Matrim you see, for surely no maze is fun for the maker, aside for the making, if no one enjoys the pleasures of it.

On this day, as any other day in its simplicity, Matrim was walking home from the maze and his practice. The way home was through a path in the woods and on his way he ran into an elderly woman, she encouraged him towards her saying, "Young man with noble breath, could you spare some time to an old lady. You see I have been venturing to my home all day and my legs have grown weary, would you mind helping an elderly woman like myself to my house?"

Matrim lent his ears then his lips in reply, "It shall be my honor, lend me your arm and I shall lead you to where you show me."

The elderly lady gave a slight smile, "Surely there is honor among the young still. I was fearful that even your noble breath would betray me."

Matrim took the elderly lady by the arm and led her where she pointed. While walking he spoke to her and requested to know what she meant by this noble breath, for as he worded, "Such nobleness is not found in my breath other than is common in man. How can I be told I have a noble breath that deserves distinction?" She only smiled and patted his hand when he inquired the information from her, until they came near to a hut in the distance that could not be seen a few moments ago do to the trees covering such sight.

She began to speak, and the closer they got to the hut he could not help but hear her words betray more and more youth, though he dared not look at her. "Child," she spoke, "Nobility is surely common amongst the breath of men, for no nobler a creature is there than man who watches over the worlds decay. Though surely such decay is evidence in the decay of the ones who watch over it. Nobility is dying young one, the Nobility of man is missing and their breath is dying. Your breath betrayed living nobility. Which is why I showed myself to you and tested you."

Matrim spoke up in confusion, "Living nobility?" and in his asking he turned towards the elderly lady to find that a young maiden had met his sight where the elderly lady had been.

She smiled up to him, "Yes living, for the living grow but the dying fall. Yours was a nobility which grew rather than fell. I would hope that I could teach you how to grow all the more and continue it in the growth so you are not lost in the thoughts which are found in men that lead to death. Though do not be confused, you are surely not a lone, nor is it plausible that more might not raise to those numbers by your acts and the moving of something more. I would also not encourage you to thinking yourself unburdened by some thoughts which are not meant to be. For surely your lack in growth is caused by the parasite that is common among men."

As they reached the house a man came out who had the look of youth on his face. He smiled and welcomed them both inside. When in inside Matrim noticed that though it appeared small outside, it contained what seemed to be a castle on the inside. The lady of age and youth introduced the man as her husband Stigni and herself as Petrice. She explained to him many mysteries which he did not fully understand but listened patiently to them anyway. Then she got to her purpose of the test and explained more fully than before.

"You have heard plenty on that which is the redemption of men, but there is more than just the world of men, though surely men are found in all worlds. Some stumble upon them, while some are lead to them. Those who stumble upon them are not always of a good nature, and of this world men of a horrid nature are found. They have mislead the world and have condemned it like the world of man. Though I must admit their stumbling does not always seem so innocent nor of random chance. I would not put it past that which caused the decay of this world has also lead those to cause decay in other worlds that he has been denied entry to.

"You might even ask how I know all this, I am like the angels, but am not an angel. I have been set and made in the worlds of time that I might watch better the barriers from and into the worlds. This house is a portal into and out of the worlds and may be found when the need arises."

Matrim stood and desired after an answer speaking, "What do you wish of me then, that you would lead me here?"

Petrice smiled and picked up a book from a shelf he had not noticed. She began to speak while flipping through the pages, "We desire that you prepare the world for the salvation that awaits it. You will not be its salvation, but you shall be the preparation. I cannot force this on you, but I do not believe you will deny this offer either. I would beg you to be quick in your decision though, it is of utmost importance that you meet this world sooner than later, remember that they are also found in the time of your world, as in time runs there as it does here. For time spreads through all the worlds and is not lost on any of them, nor is any time different from the other. Though the ages which might be found will differ."

Matrim stood still and begged the question of whether or not he would ever return to the world he knows. Surely there is plausible reason to ask such a thing especially when little is known of the situation at hand.

She looked at him and gave a smile for comfort, "It is possible that you will be able to return, but I cannot give you any guarantee. There are very few guarantee's which can be given."

Matrim then asked for time to prepare for such a journey, saying that "I do not need any further security in this decision. If people are in need then it would be wrong to deny them that need. Though please allow me time to bid my goodbyes."

She granted him his wish then prayed that he would have a a pleasant rest with the time given to prepare. She bid him a goodbye as he walked out of the door.
