Part 1
Chapter 1: Eternal Sonada

Legend tells of 18 swords of power that when gathered together would hold infinite power for their weilder. Each of the swords has control over different aspects of life and the elements. A light and dark sword for the elements of fire, water, ice, wind, earth, electricity, psychic, and time. On top of that, there were two swords that stuck out above the rest. A sword of light which held power over all the light aspect of the elements, and a sword of darkness for the darker half of them.

Sly Kisarugi, destined for such a job, completed the task and obtained power as a god of fate, and eventually ascending to higher godhood by obtaining powers over existence and creation. Kojin, a friend of his helped him along the way. However at the top there's always controversy and jealousy, and Kojin was envious of this power. Sadly, once the swords had completed their job, they could no longer be used a second time, and Kojin's envy turned to hate. Tricking Sly, Kojin banished him and most of the weapons into an alternate dimension where his so called 'godlike friend' had no power.

However, three swords remained.

Three swords that Kojin kept close at hand in the shape of two spears and a sword. Both fire, and one psychic, he held unfathomable power compared to most mortals. He weilded these powers in an attempt to find his own godhood, but when he realized there was no salvation in his existence he gave up. Instead he wandered aimlessly slaughtering those who claimed power, proving they were weak.

This, however, is not our hero. Not even close. This is our hero's enemy. See one does not get to the top alone. He has friends. Sly had more than one friend, but one in particular is where our story will revolve around.

Jin Setumi is a pirate, and a strong one at that. He has had his battles with Kojin a few times, as he tried defending his friend Sly on the way to the top. However with Sly gone, he works the land, selling himself out as a wandering swordsman, performing deeds at a price. He's a mercenary for hire, and a good one at that. Hard-working people respect him while theives and beggars tremble in his wake. While he did not have the swords, he has attained his own type of godhood in his popularity among the public.

It's in the town of Bleakwater Falls that we start our story. Jin stopped in to rest after his latest job finally came to an end, and now he's torn on where he should go next. In among the small houses, our hero rests with a group of allies who will aid him on his newest adventure in time while Sly sings his eternal sonada from a dimension beyond the boundaries of time and space. Our hero feels his friend's pain, but fights on for him as a defender to those who need him.

In among a slew of people at the bar, Jin sat quietly, lost in thought while his friends spoke among one another. He was thinking about his dream the night before where Kojin approached him with blood on his hands. He spoke of how he had killed Sly and that Jin was his next target. It was still only a dream, but for some reason, Jin couldn't get it out of his mind. Meanwhile his friends spoke, not fearful in the slightest that there was a demon out there somewhere.

Harken was one other who didn't speak, but he rarely spoke in general. He had his sword leaning against the side of the table and seemed to be listening quietly to the conversation. Whatever he had on his mind wasn't showing through his face. He had his hands propped up under his chin as he listened quietly.

For most of the talking, it occurred between three main faces. Kishimura (Kay), Nimikatsu (Nimi), and Kalena. The voices echoed a little bit of laughter on occasion, but for the most part, they seemed calm and collected when there were bigger problems rearing their head. Their so called leader of the moment, Jin, however saw no reason for the happiness. There were too many questions that seemed to plague him at this point in time. His quiet demeanor and sad look actually caught Nimi's eye. Her smile vanished for a moment before she was dragged back to the conversation.

The smiling and happy conversation continued, but only for a moment before Jin finally spoke. However his words were dark. Darker than anyone expected from him. "Do any of you ever wonder what Kojin's up to?" The table fell silent. Everyone was now looking at Jin. The silence stayed for a moment before Jin stood and walked out of the room. Even the once uncaring stares of Harken showed a little worry. Their eyes followed Jin through the crowd and out the door.

As the door closed behind Jin, there was a lone figure standing where the door was originally blocking. He was quiet, but not threatening, but his presence was enough to pull Jin's attention. He came to a stop, not bothering to look over his shoulder at the man. "Who are you?"

The man stepped forward. Hair as red as fire, and eyes as dull as one other that Jin knew. He smiled and spoke confidently. "You'll know me as a Fuyuki, but I'm nothing my brother. That's not what matters. What matters is the answer to your question. What is Kojin up to?" His voice didn't seem threatening, but the fact that he was Kojin's brother was setting off alarms in Jin's mind. This man could be dangerous.

Jin bared his teeth. "What does a Fuyuki want here?"

"Don't worry, I'm not here to cause problems. I'm here to answer your question. I know where Kojin is. I know what he's doing. However, the answer may not be to your liking."

Jin scoffed. He finally turned towards the Fuyuki and crossed his arms. "Look, if you're trying to lure me in, your doing a bad job at it. I don't trust you, and..."

"I don't blame you." The man crossed his arms. "I just want to know if you'll humor me."

Jin hesitates. While he didn't trust the man, his words didn't have any reason to show mistrust. He was obviously just wanting a fair shot. "Alright, you've got your chance. What's your name?"

The man smiled. "Narusei. Narusei Fuyuki. I'm wanting to see Kojin brought down. As his brother I love him, but I don't love what he's done." He pointed over his shoulder to the building Jin had just come out of. "You may want your buddies around for this one."
