You may not braid your hair
nor can you adorn yourself with gold.... 1timothy 2:9 Broiding and plaiting of the hair refers not to simply braiding the hair, but to hair that was crisped, curled and fixed fancily. It was common for women of the time to weave silver wire, thin plates of gold and colored ribbons into their hair. They also placed pearls and precious stones in the hair as ornamentation.
