2nd Gaiaversary!
April 16th, 2006, my main account has turned two years old!
Account and user history for the past year.
Beginning session. April - July:
This year had started out fairly okay. Less drama, and more fun. Nothing of any real significance happened here.
Although the ridiculing of june and july's donation items was, in my opinion, pretty funny.
Mid session. August - December:
This is where things started getting interesting. The new user profiles were a blast, although knowing myself, I disliked them at first. However, after utilizing it's capabilities, it's an awesome site addition.
Towns, when released, reminded me... of scrambled eggs. This was at the time when I still had dial-up, so it was pretty hard for me to traverse it. I enjoyed it overall, though.
Next major release was the posting types. I saw it as an enhancement for the boards, and while trying to train my eye to get used to the look, it was a nice add-on. Of course, there were those "Omfg gaia's even more of a kiddy site!!11", which I felt sorry for. In the most mocking way.
Last but not least, who could forget the new layout? This was, quite simply, apocalyptic. I went straight to the Site Feedback forum to check out the threads, and I've never seen so much bitching in my life. Honestly. I finally figured out the reason I rarely ever posted and/or visited that forum.
When I first saw the 4th layout, I thought the admin's have taken to mind the many requests of the converting the 3rd layout to the 2nd layout, and changed the color scheme and header bar into a more simplistic design in opposing to the 3rd layout. But the coin still wound up on the false bet.
In my case, I enjoy the 4th layout (current). But there is one false thing I dislike about it. The many numbers of links coupled with childish words. "Dress up", and "My"-everything was a turnoff compared to the standard "Mail", Profile", etc.
This was also the time I obtained my OMG hat.
Late session. January - April:
Things were cooling down, but at the same time rising in heat. Ian trial event, cards and different rare events, just to name a few.
This is the time I finally got a broadband connection, which came in very handy.
This period also introduced my fascination for housing, which I got into pretty quickly. 3/4th of the time I've owned a house all I had was a carpet. Now in such a short time, I went through many a layout, and begun hanging out there. Following up with the overpriced 20k expansion.
Another follow-up to my avatar history, I changed my hairstyle for the first time. From using, and getting accustomed, to Flow throughout my years, I changed to the Groovin' style, which bears more resemblance toward my real hair than any other. Of course, after tolerating my avatar with short hair for a short while, it became a realization that my avatar is more suited, and more well known, for it's long hairdom. So I switched to Sleek, which I am currently enjoying the most.
This year was when I got introduced to Final Fantasy XI. And I find it especially addictive. Most favored online game for me. Although many would tell that the game is trash, I follow my own gaming opinions, after experiencing Star Fox Assault.
Also at this time, I got my hands on a new computer. And it works like a charm compared to my old piece of crap.
This is also the time I obtained my Angelic Scarf.

This is the final point. Would you believe me if I said this took almost two hours to type?
I'm sure I have a helluva lot more to record, but I don't feel like sitting here for another hour, nor do I want this entry to be too gargantuan.
One last note. I failed my goal of getting 100,000 posts before my second anniversary, but I did manage the minimum of 90,000. Which is still a difficult task.

EDIT 1: Easter occurred on the same day as my gaiaversary, which took me by surprise. The bunny ears rock.
EDIT 2: Behold the somewhat overexagerated magnificence of my 2nd year gaiaversary donation items! The staff and pet robot stalker... helmet.. thing.
Another modern vs. fantasy deal here. Tough choice.

I wasn't around for the first layout, and I barely remember the old ones. And we're due for another one sometime soon. Or maybe I was just imagining someone said that?
I don't really remember how the old layouts looked, though I <i>do</i> remember always clicking the report thread button instead of the post button all the time because everything got switched up. And I have a bunch of glitches saved from the old layout. This new layout doesn't have 'exciting' glitches. ><
x_x I can't even remember what months I had quit Gaia during, let alone when I got any significant item or reached blah posts. Actually, I'm pretty sure I don't have any significant items or high post counts. *mind decides to have a nuclear meltdown at this point*
Oh, and the new towns has non-optional language filtering. I wouldn't know if Kuffie hadn't been trying to say... words... when I got on that one time. But since then I haven't said a single censored word. Huh. eek
This whole year has been a blur to me. gonk In fact, I'm pretty sure my entire life suddenly melded up into a huge confused ball and I don't remember what happened when anymore.
