Glinda Caulfield

User ImageName:
Glinda Caulfield

Nickname
Daisy

Age
15

Height
5'8"

Soul Appearance
A rather vivid shade of red and has two large pigtails similar to her own hair. It has a look of slight uneasiness on its face and its mouth is almost not visible due to how small it is.

Partner
Chester Denton- Rose Rapier
Formal and kind, he does enough talking for two people. He's prone to rambling if someone doesn't check him. He cares for Glinda, but isn't one to push her out of her quiet shell. He just wants her to be comfortable.

Weapon skills
Able to cover the blade in thorns, Can make the blade whip like, Can extend up to ten feet in length, Uses kicks in fighting style, occasionally grapples foes

Soul Resonance Attack
The Glass Valkyrie
Both Chester and Glinda’s souls expand out before covering her body before they wrap about Glinda to form a rather snug and flexible set of armor. The many different plates appear to be made of glass. It is surprisingly durable despite its appearance and can take a couple deadly blows. However, it’s only able to take so many before disappearing. Glinda also gains a set of glass wings, but cannot fly for longer than a minute straight. They mostly act as a means for boosting Glinda’s jumping and adding aerial control during her high jumps. She can also glide, but only distances that are less than 200 feet. While the armor is not taxing on the two and can be maintained for somewhat lengthy fights, the armor does not augment any other abilities.

Living Quarters
She lives above a bakery, Fresh Cut Flours, where she made all of their ornate stain glass windows. The work is precise and exact; showing the care she put into them. The place is surprising large for a third story apartment; the bakers live below her. She has a place to work on her stain glass commissions along with a kitchen, living area, and two bed rooms.

The bakers, George and Janette Murphy, are a couple in their mid thirties and are currently childless. While they are trying, the two are not worried about making sure they have a kid. According to them, it’s only a matter of time. While they will dote on Glinda and Chester, the couple does not overload them with treats. Glinda does help out with the decorating before class and she enjoys it.

Personality
Ever polite and proper, Glinda has a rather cool head on her shoulders. She often draws her projects in her sketchbook, but she’d rather work on her hobbies and commissions at home if she had the choice. Glinda doesn’t say much, but it isn’t out of shyness. She just would rather listen to another talk. Words out of her mouth are almost always the truth, unless it appears that such words will greatly upset the person. She doesn’t like to be cruel or intentionally hurt a person unless she thinks they’ve earned or warranted such treatment. Once someone has garnered her friendship, Glinda is very loyal, but it isn’t blind trust in the person. She’s a little dense when it comes to romance and will stumble through any attempts to try it at first. Glinda doesn’t care for things being overtly sappy, but will tolerate just about anything to a certain point. She also is rather tolerant of demands from her weapon due to the fact she thinks he thinks he's doing her a favor by being her weapon.

Skills
Good balance, very nimble fingers, can be very quiet when needed, can hold her breath for about three minutes, a very malleable soul for her weapon, knows Japanese and Italian

Flaws
Forgetful of dates often, A bit vain, a weak voice, can be very blunt, terrified of swans, her soul has a hard time meshing with more than two souls, rather quick to judge, her work area must not be messed with or she will have a fit, her commissions must be flawless

Dislikes
Bitter food, Spring, lots of questions, swans, people who mess with her projects, running behind on commissions, having to take off her collar, anyone who touches her glass, food being wasted, her hair getting large snarls in it, anyone touching her tools, short doors

Fears
Thunderstorms, singing, broken limbs, her hair needing to be cut, Swans, a commission being broken, being too tall for something

Past
Glinda grew up in a family of second generation stain glass craftsmen from Italy, but being a miser wasn't unheard of to them. Her cousin had been one and she had been transferred to the Oceania section. Glinda wanted to join because she wanted to see the world, even with her childhood fear of swans. She'd been mobbed by a flock of them when she was four and remains terrified of them. Her two other siblings, a younger brother and an older sister, actively helped keep her safe from the dreaded white devils, according to Glinda. Her older sister moved back to Italy to study under a glass blower while her younger brother is currently learning more about glass work from their parents.

Growing up, Glinda didn't have too many troubles growing up. She was occasionally teased due to her height, but nothing to scar her for life. Her siblings are close to her height, so they didn’t get teased too badly when they all were tall. Her parents had enough of a cash flow from their commissions to be considered middle class. Money wasn't tight, but it wasn't flowing either. She began to learn her family's trade at the age of nine as she made simple things. She found that she loved working with things that required a use of fine detail.

Her family excelled in making windows for shops; ones with a very ornate border showing off the workmanship while allowing most of the window to be open to let the shops sell their wares. Shop signs and hanging arts are also major things they sell. It isn’t very often that someone gets a full shop window of glass, but they were trying to branch out into full art windows. The family make ornate lamps, both floor and hanging, on commission as well.

After working late on a school project when she was eleven, she was attacked by a soul on Lord Death's list. It hadn't been able to kill her thanks to a local miser, but her throat had been badly damaged from the evil soul pinning her down there. Her windpipe had been badly bruised and her larynx had been crushed. The healing had been difficult; she had some internal damage that healed poorly, so she does struggle to have her voice be at a normal volume when talking.

Glinda set off to be a miser in order to keep others from being hurt as badly as she had been. She met Chester on his trip to Death City and he had been all too eager to act as her weapon. Part of it was due to the fact that Glinda is almost as tall as him and the other is the softness of her soul’s frequency. At least, that’s what he’s telling her at this point in time. Glinda’s soul easily plays off her weapon’s frequency, but it struggles to get along with others well. Chester is from a slightly well off family and he willingly follows after Glinda despite what he could have. He enjoys her company greatly and really wants to make sure that his miser is happy.

Glinda knows just about anything about Chester; he’ll keep nothing secret unless you ask him to. He’s from a prominent family in Italy, but they aren’t part of the 1%. Considered higher up in the upper class, he’s never wanted for anything. His family makes a living breeding racing horseflesh and they’ve insisted that all members of the family help care for the horses. It keeps them close to what they are trying to sell; to make sure that the animals aren’t thought of as just dollar signs. Chester knows what hard work is, but he doesn’t know how to do it for long periods of time.

He just did what was asked of him, but didn’t push too hard past those expectations or goals set for him. Chester finds Glinda’s desire to continue pushing herself to get closer to perfection something he wants to emulate and hopes to do so by helping her. If there’s one thing he won’t tell Glinda is that he really looks up to her in that regard.
