Modest Mouse are an indie rock band out of Washington. They make some of the most interesting, unique, and beautiful sounding music that I know of. I love the heavy emphasis on the bass and their drummer is pretty amazing. The album this song is from (Good News For People Who Love Bad News) is probably number one on my list of all time favorite albums. Float On, the first song from that album, is definitely in my top 3 favorite songs of all time. The only reason I didn't choose to put that song on my profile is because I don't really like the music video for it. It's not a great video and it takes away from how perfect the song is, musically. This song is also fantastic in every way, and the video is pretty cool as well. It's a good example of how odd yet hauntingly beautiful Modest Mouse songs can be. I don't know much about their drummer, I've always really enjoyed his play style but never got around to investigating the man himself. Maybe I'll do that right now.
