The Gentle Stepper with an Enduring Heart
She comes to Earth every year
wearing an icy white dress that shimmers when she wills it.
Though her feet are bare,
the steps that she takes move the winds.
During her stay
she travels the world
and dances in every area in which she arrives,
her performance indiscriminate.

Some receive her well
for she can be a beauty to behold,
be refreshing to feel,
and inspire very fashionable trends.
Others dread her coming,
expressing distaste at her influence on the environment,
her cold nature,
as well as the illnesses that thrive during her time here.

She is the scapegoat.
When in actuality, she has always been the warmth of a furry coat.
She faces the blame all alone.
Fingers pointing
and eyes cold and hard as stone.
In return, she gives them a hug.
Promising to keep them safe and snug.

As much hatred as they show.
As many insults as they throw.
She always knows...
how much this place means to her.
With every nasty name,
she knew they were almost the same.
Cold as ice,
but one side not being nice.
