though he acts like the fool
he only wishes to be notices
maybe he'd dare to dream to be loved
if anyone would care to notice
they think that he's cool
in reality, his hopelessness
is what drives him apart from his friends
and he wonders what the problem is
the only friend he's had
comes in a fury with a gusting wind
a hurricane by the ounce
as good as any he's had
they all cry and scream
what you do to yourself isn't what it seems
he just laughs and shakes his head

that no one is a constant
nor a companion, that is true"
so don't you dare, don't you dare break his ruse
his cries are seldom heard
only understood as a drunken slur
don't you blame him though he blames you
for all the bullshit he goes through
passing out by the breaking dawn
he only wants to be left alone
and maybe then when he's forgotten and ignored
he may be happy he's left his mark on this world
maybe he's left that mark on the world
though you'd never know
yeah, you'd never know
