A lot of things have happened since the last time we gathered together here in the journals for a bit. One of the biggest happenings being the coronavirus outbreak that sprung to life right before our eyes right from China the whole way around the entire globe. I don't know if people will really realize it until MUCH later, but this is going to go down in history just as much as the bubonic plague did (even if it isn't as deadly)
First thought on my mind is that I am concerned about the risk factors that this disease brings up especially for people with preexisting conditions (IE- asthma, COPD, emphysema, etc.). People who are going out and spreading this pneumonia based viral illness are not being very privy to the warnings that the world's governments are sending out. Social distancing is a big hit for most, and quarantines / stay at home orders for others, but the spread is still happening. Numbers are still rising.
So far, we don't really know a lot about this disease, and along with that... we do not have a cure or a vaccine for it. Only options to keep us mostly treated and alive if we become critically or gravely stricken with covid-19. As someone from the US, I'm not sure how our current president is taking action against things happening, but we're doing the best we can. One could at least suppose that.
In my area, we had at least 2 or 3 cases in just my county by the time of releasing this statement, but there's sure to be MANY more to come as the spread on this is much like the flu. I'm hoping this gets sorted out soon.
If we don't sort this out, I do fear for the economic and financial crises we're going to fall into within the months to come. It's already hitting us weirdly as is, and there's no saying what's to come if we are stuck in this situation for 3 or 4 months more.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone be they affected or unaffected by this virus. I really do hope you all make it through and see the light on the other side of these dark times. Cheers, loves!
