Each moment with you felt like a razzle dazzle of gold, showered over me as it slowly covered my life. You made me shine, feel alive and rich to my very being.
I did not see it until it was too late, when I no longer recognized myself in the glitter and glamour. It changed me, this feeling I felt from you as surely as the feeling itself changed and I found it fed into the unsettledness of my heart. The more gold that was laden upon me, the heavier my heart became as I struggled to hold onto myself.
Now I'm dripping in gold as I gingerly navigate our conversations. Now I no longer know how I feel for you.
