Plots! Plots! #74 - Instruments Shounen: Brass
Thought I would finally give this an update...
Note: These are the /current/ standing representations of each instrument, derived from Instruments Shoujo.

Owen Schiller: General of the Brass army. At only 19 years old, he ascended to the position when his father, the former general, passed away during an ambush attack by the Voices. As General, he is now in charge of the army as well as running Tuba, the northernmost district of the Brass. Owen strives to be the tough leader that his father was and keep up his family's legacy, but is a much gentler, kinder soul compared to all the previous generals. He does not allow his upper ranks to succumb to bribery and manipulation, unlike his father who had his top military officials also be a bit of a "secret service". He has chosen outstanding young soldiers to accept the top official positions, much to the dismay of some older Brass militants. To the advantage of our Wind protagonists, Owen would prefer a peaceful ending to the war despite this conflicting with Brass ideals.

Holly Holden Allora: Holden holds the position of Lieutenant General, and oversees the district of Horn. Holden identifies as male, making him the first and only transgender soldier to gain a high military rank ... if the people of the Brass believed that. Brass traditions do not view LGBTQ to be an actual ... thing. Having faced many difficulties in his own upbringing and military career, Holden does not wish for the suffering of other individuals (including enemy forces), and stands behind seeking a peaceful resolution to the war.

Myra Mienl: Myra is the first female to hold the position of Major General. This position does not overlook any district, as there are only four sub-sections in the Brass. She was appointed by Owen himself, as he admired her fierceness, loyalty, and dedication to the people. Myra works extremely hard to keep up with the demands of the position as well as the public scrutiny she often faces. She strongly dislikes Holden, only referring to him as 'Holly', and often pushes a strong agenda of 'Brass women needing to stand together in order to get the recognition so many of them deserve' while disregarding, well, everything Holden says or feels. Myra is strongly against a peace treaty and plans to win the war, insistent on showing the world what the Brass army really can do.

Andy Kaizer: Andy holds the position of Colonel, and oversees the district of Trombone. He is a rather young, free-spirited boy, often described as a 'goofball' (or careless, by some), but has detailed knowledge of the development and usage of military weapons. Owen recognized that he would be a valuable asset to the team, given his (somewhat puzzling) intellect. He has no particular feelings about a peace treaty or about winning. He loves building machines and watching things explode, and is "happy to be included" and is "just here to have a good time". Many question why he was given this high-ranking military position.

Thomas (Tom) Weston: Tom holds the position of Commandant in the Brass army, and oversees the district of Trumpet. He is very young, but Owen describes him as having an incredible work ethic and being very passionate about (and good at!) what he does, particularly running his district on a tight schedule and raising morale. Tom does have a bit of an ego though. He tends to think he is the best at everything, but all people have room to grow. He is close friends with Andy, as they trained together when they were young recruits. Tom is also very respectful towards tradition, and wishes to push forth the former General's plans to win the war.
