Memoirs of a Life in Progress
Upset
I have so many things to say about Mark Zuckerber's inaction regarding Trump's highly volatile "When the looting starts, the shooting starts" comment. Even his employees are displeased. His stance is, although he disagrees with what Trump posted, he feels it's important to allow those comments to stay unabridged as to allow an open forum for the public to discuss. His thought process is, he only has two choices; let it stay or remove it. Per his employees, there are of course other choices, such as adding a disclaimer or informational link, as they did on Twitter.
This from the man/company who refuses to fact-check political advertisements, stating it is not the responsibility of his company to censor neutral content. This overlooks the fact that the moment payment is received for those advertisements, neutrality is negated.
To those activists and supporters who would like to engage in a non-violent protest, give a thought to boycotting companies like Facebook who work against equality by being complacent. Companies who choose their own financial gain over what is right, or fair or appropriate. You'd be surprised how quickly perspectives and behaviors change, when you hit them in the wallet.

It won't happen, though. Even outraged, most people won't cut themselves off from the collective. Most people don't like not being in the know about what everyone is thinking, feeling, doing or eating 24/7. It's easier to loot and destroy other people's property than it is to "sacrifice" their precious link. Quite disheartening.
