Adventures of a Barton Regular
Hey it's Calvin! I'll be updating my journal with random scenes and adventures I may have witnessed or participated in!
It's been so long. . .
The last thing I remember before everything went black, was the face of the Labtech. That blonde woman and the man in purple were there, smirking. I had been caught. Norman couldn't find me. Balthazar had sent us on patrol to Gold Beach. I told Norman to run as soon as I saw the others. He did. I told him to get Lawrence...or Gwen...or Ulric. I don't know if he did. I didn't see them. I didn't see anyone else. I was outnumbered, but I had to let Norman escape. He had to spread the word. I don't know what these people were planning, but it had to be put to an end. With my armor dented and scorched...I dropped to my knees. This was it. This was the end. . .

Then I was awoken. The sun was shining in my eyes. I don't know how long I was out. I don't even know what had happened. I don't recall anything. I just saw Norman with Lawrence. Ulric was there. Where was Gwen? I sat up, groggy. Odd how exhausted one could be even after having been out for who knows how long. Norman had made it. He must have. They have must have sent in a party. Probably Lawrence, Gwen, and Balthazar. Or maybe Norman worked up the nerve to help Lawrence find me too. Heh. Maybe Commander Leon assisted them. No one seemed to have figured out their goals. It was a rescue mission. They didn't see the man in purple, or the blonde woman. It was only labtechs. That I found odd.

I felt different though. I felt as if...everything was different. They were the only ones who could do it. The other Regulars had to remain at their posts. I finally felt...like a failure. Balthazar had always tried to drive it into my brain. "Calvin, you're lazy." "Calvin, you don't realize how badly I want to terminate you from your position." For the first time, I thought about how right he was. My arrogance blinded me. My curiosity got the better of me. I don't care. This had to protect Barton Town. Gaia. Perhaps their plans are over, or perhaps they're planning even more.

For now, I'll just...I don't...I don't even know. I'm not the Regular I used to be. Times have grown dark. Times have grown lonely. As I stand by the fountain in the center of Barton Town, I watch the leaves fall gently to the ground. Autumn is approaching. The sun is setting. Things...will change. I clenched my fists. I couldn't give up so easily. I had to fight it. Whatever happened with those Labtechs...I will find a way to reverse it. No matter how tired I've become. How weak my legs are after walking to Gold Beach. They won't keep me down. I glanced up at the sky. I would succeed. I would help to save the world. I would keep Barton Town safe. It was my duty. It was my purpose. I hurried off as fast as my legs would take me. I would figure out what their goal was.
