Storytime
I really don't have anything to put in my journals so I decided I would put some of my short stories in them. All works out okay. I hope you can read them!
Dancing with the Dead
It is another one of my stories except this is the second chapter in one of my longer stories. I am still working on the story and don't know if I will post the first chapter because..truely I don't want anyone taking it. So I'm still kind of cautious about this but I have people who have read it and will vouch for me if someone else steals it.
But anyways, this is the second chapter, not the first, and it is her dream. I just really liked how it turned out.

Everything in her life seemed dark, even her dreams. With a love for black and infatuation with the dead, Sidney was all but normal. To others, her dreams would be a nightmare but this was far from a nightmare. It was a dance with the dead.

From the beginning, she was killed, murdered by a homeless person jealous of her wealth. A bullet to the shoulder only hurt but the one to her head was swift and it was over. That’s when her dance began. She would wake up lying in the middle of a town from back in the day. The street was made of matching stones that fitted together perfectly. Over her stood a tall dark haired man in a top hat and a nice tuxedo with a crimson tie. He was pale, porcelain pale and his eyes were black. His smile sent a chill down her spine and made her shiver but she liked it.

A fog settled in and he disappeared in it, along with the rest of the town. Then she was under the town entrance, a concrete archway with no gate. She spun around at the sound of a piano, no it was at least three pianos. Many instruments played. It was a sad song. One with drawn out deep chords and the lowest notes played on the piano. Oh but it was marvelous. It made her want to dance, to spin around in that land of the dead. To spin herself with an invisible man and bow afterwards with no one to see her. Oh it was indeed great.

The music got louder and it was soon the only thing she heard, all thoughts were blocked out except for the one that said Dance! She brought her hand up to dance with her ‘invisible man’ but instead of just touching plain air, another hand met hers and it was that of the man from before. He smiled charmingly and the voice urged again Dance! She clasped his hand and on they went. Spinning down the empty street. Twirling and spinning until the gray buildings were nothing but a blur. Not once did they step on each others feet and her heart flew as if it had a pair of its own wings. She felt light as a feather but it all ended too soon. The man let go of her and she spun to the side until she was caught by another. This time she couldn’t help but scream. “Dead!” The new person was dead. Along with the others who had showed up. They were all embraced and spinning and dancing like she had been a moment ago. The dead man grabbed her wrist and leaned her back before pulling her up and spinning. It wasn’t like dancing with the pale man but it was enjoyable. The dead man wasn’t decaying or old but was her age and had a knife sticking out of the back of his head. An old woman dancing to the side of them had fly away hair but there was a rope burn mark around her neck; suicide. The dead boy let go of her and they exchanged dancing partners and the music speeded up. It was so much fun. Dipping, twirling, she even saw someone doing the tango. Dresses flared out fashionably in the air. Young girls, some around her age, wore medieval dresses or bonnets. Men wore tuxedos or regular clothing. This was the land of the dead. Some were old, some were young but they all danced.

The music slowly faded from her head until it sounded like someone had muffled it with cotton and a voice began to sing. Looking around, no one else seemed effected by the change, for all she knew she was the only one hearing the voice. The voice got louder and sang a pure note that made her heart leap.

It was an opera.

She changed from high pitch to low pitch with a feeling that made Sidney’s emotions go crazy. One moment she was happy and light hearted then next she was sad and wanted to cry. The person, most likely a woman, sung of a dark love, one that couldn’t happen, a possession and obsession. A man, who’s face was darkened by a hat but had beauty beyond compare. The singer had loved him but he had no love for her. She obsessed over him and others called her possessed. The love ended when she found him with another woman and so the song changed. From the sadness grew hate and from the happiness came madness. She continued to dance even after she felt the dead man disappear. The whole town disappeared and she danced with her arm in the air and an arm on the invisible shoulder of her invisible man. The world around her turned black as if she had been put in a box but yet she couldn’t stop dancing for that sickening voice in her head whispered Dance!

She was tired but it urged her on and she couldn’t stop.
Dance! Dance!

It was good, but what's the main point of it? I'm kinda confused on that.
