Since I'm going backwards, we'll continue with Jace. He moved to this town a few years ago (early high school) with his father and older sibling after his mother passed away. Unfortunately, his father moved on and married some random lady from town, who he really doesn't like. This also means that he's stuck in this terrible place now. His brother/sister yeeted off to a foreign country for university a few years ago, so he's kinda just flying alone. He still visits the graveyard frequently and such, and is a very melancholy teenage boy because of this whole thing.

Jace can't see any paranormal stuff. So he's normal. Kinda? He wants to be an engineer of some sort, like his older sibling, and as such is very invested in the dying robotics club at the high school. He builds cool gadgets in his spare time (which, if/when combined with Yuki's expertise, can make some affective weapons against the supernatural)...

Nicholas Sal has lived in this boring old town for. EVER. His family is kinda weird and dysfunctional. They're in charge of some tourist-trap-ish thing that banks on the supernatural being real, so they kind of... hunt? for monsters? for fun? And I mean... hunt. Nik's trained to use a crossbow and knows basic hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately... he also can't really SEE the supernatural, so his younger sister is the family prodigy. So he focuses his athletic prowess on the school's sporting teams... like... uhhhhh a very underfunded volleyball team.

He spends a lot of time with childhood friends Annie and Erin, and also plotting to leave the town. He has absolutely no clue where he would go to uni though. Canada seems nice? Anyways, his combat skills are particularly useful, if only he could figure out a way to see the supernatural beings.
