He took another deep breath and swung, wincing slightly as he heard the crack of his bat against the baseball. He watched it soar across the field, landing in the grass with a loud thump.
Roux sighed, throwing his bat into the dirt with a yell. Normally, field practice made him feel better, but today, the uncomfortable pit in his stomach remained.
"Nice hit."
Roux spun around to see Cian hopping down the bleachers. The boy in green walked confidently towards him, with the faintest of smirks on his face.
"Actually, in baseball, you usually say it's a good swing. But thanks." Roux deadpanned. Wasn't it enough to have almost outed him at the varsity party? What did this guy want?
"Yeah, I know nothing about baseball," Cian shrugged, unfazed by Roux's coldness. "I'm more into football. The international kind, not the American kind, duh." he continues rambling.
"Okay." is Roux's only reply. Maybe if he ignored Cian for long enough, he'd go away.
