You planted a seed in my hearts garden
And over time it grew
From seed to stem, from stem to bud
But the flower never bloomed
It slowly withered the garden died
But a single seed remained
A single seed, the memories
Buried silently in my heart
Months and months went slowly by
As I tried to kill the seed
But try as I might, the seed survived
And so I let it be
Then the kiss changed everything
I found the seed again
But, instead of kiling it
I stood ready with a can
Though it was hard, the waiting
I stood next to it patiently
But though I poured no water
The stem grew gracefully
This one grew taller than the other
More vibrant and complex
A new light, brightening my heart,
Made this plant different
