Prattlings and Introspections
I don't write, I mean, other than brief text messages and plane logs, a quick jotted list here and there. But, I do think a lot, and hey, recording equipment can be used for more than just music, right? Who knows, eventually I may utilize some of
Marketing Techniques - A work in progress
Marketting Techniques. (A work in progress)

Some have asked, no, many have asked how I've made the money I have made in the marketplace. I'm nearing 2 million sales in one month of marketting.. so, it's a good question. biggrin

First I have been a bit of a slave to the market. Watching what is hot, what sales fast and what doesn't.

The market like anything has ups and downs... when a new item comes out, the market spikes in some things, and drops drastically in others. That's when you get your very good prices to make a bit more profit on. Buy those little things that are being sold for way to small...

My philosophy is buy dirt cheap and sale under the market value.

You can find market value by typing in whatever you are selling in quotes. "blue ink", "angelic boots" and putting the sort at lowest buy price. You then undershoot it by 1 gp, or as much as a thousand, depending on how fast you want to sell.

Marketers don't like bids... they like fast buy now prices. If you set something to buy now, and at a short time, the people watching what's coming in, and those watching what's going out will both see it quickly. If it's a slower moving item, you will want to make it a few hours, or, a few days, depending on how long you're going to be gone.

People think if they put something at bid it will get more money, and that is possible, but often times the marketers that are trying to get outrageous prices for things are seeking to buy as quickly as possible. If you will I am a middle man.

Between those that don't know the value of what they are selling and those that know the value and are looking to make a few hundred/thousand gold on a sale.

On occasion you will get a sale that is outrageous. I've sold two really jacked up shirts for 10k each. I believe those were gamers that were simply wanting the item and didn't know it's worth. One I didn't want to sale, the other I did as a quick "hmm, wonder if I can repeat that." and it worked.

I will give actual factual examples when I pick up editing this again... there are things to be cautious of, and pitfalls all marketeers face... some I've fallen to, some I've seen and not. I will give the "hot items" and the "not so hot" items, information about AI (Artificial Inflation) and other tips.. but, at the moment I just was forcing myself to start this thread.

Scams to beware of!!!

If it sounds too good to be true, tell them to sell the item themselves and buy your item!

If the person has two items and wants to "try something on" trading one item first... guess what, they probably want a trade that you wouldn't take for the single item!

Scammers are jerks, not all of them realize they're scamming, but, most of them are trying to get out of a scam they got caught in. Look for "Store Price". Don't get caught!
