Gaia has really gone through a lot of changes lately, and most of them have been for the worse as far as I can tell. I can understand that the adminstration might want people to do more things than just post and poll since they've taken so much time and energy into creating so many different features for users to enjoy, but to force people into it by taking away their incentive to do the things they've always loved and enjoyed is just wrong.
It's already too difficult for normal gaians to quest for the items they want anymore. It's hard, it takes a long time, and usually the aid of others for people to get what they quest for now. Compile that with the new system being set up to be more difficult to get anywhere, and you have a bunch of frustrated questors who can never achieve their dreams. It saddens me greatly to see how out of control everything has gotten, and if this is their solution... they are sadly mistaken. This will just make it all the harder for the new people to earn much of anything as well as end up as the final straw for many older gaians who have stuck by the site for so long. I usually don't vent my thoughts like this in my journal, but it's just not fair to vent to my fellow guild mates anymore, and since no one really reads this anyway, I figure it's safe enough to put a few of my frustrations into words in an effort to purge some of the negativity from my system.
The future looks dark. Is this the darkest moment before the sun rises, or has twilight descended just before night settles in?

If those points could be clarified then I may agree or disagree with you more definitavly.
If no one reads this then why would you write your thoughts here? I say you should talk to an admin and express your concern. I'm sure they'd be glad to listen and maybe you have some good ideas to improve gaia for the better. You should voice this frustration or it will go to waste. If you do talk to an admin then I will vouch for your credability, you are a kind and intelligent person whom I believe knows when to be trully concerened about something.
